LOL. It was supposed to be filmed in Australia but the area they were all set up in got too much rain (damn climate change) and suddenly turned green. Since cropdusters filled with roundup were apparently not an option, they packed everything up and took it to Namibia.

I'd like to be able to do that.

Me wakes up one Monday morning: Fkn alarm. I don't want to go to work today, it's cold and dark outside and there's too many numbats and I'm not allowed to shoot them. Hey, I've got an idea. Genie. Oi Genie. Yeah you dopey. Get that bong out of there, fold your arms nod your head and take us somewhere warm.

OK, so it's not a bong it's your house, fine it still shouldn't be going there. Lots of things that could, that's not really one of them.

FFS, stop arguing, put your pants on and lets get out of here. Yes you can bring your bottle. Rolling Eyes

I think there would be a difference between what David would call art house and watch and the European movies most of the rest of us could view and enjoy.

Some European movies off the top of my head that I liked but I'm guessing wouldn't fall into the art house category are Headhunters, The Hunt, Let the right one in, Pan's Labyrinth, Leon: The Professional, Downfall and The Orphanage.

I agree that foreign doesn't necessarily equal 'arthouse' (although I don't tend to use that term myself). It's worth remembering that most countries have their own very mainstream commercial industry – France, Italy and Germany, for instance, make heaps of run-of-the-mill action films and romantic comedies that never make it out of the country because there's no market for them. So, while it's not that overtly arty, a film like The Professional wouldn't be considered hugely commercial either – it's probably more the equivalent of a Clint Eastwood or David Fincher film.

That aside, I think you're right that most posters here could enjoy the films you mention. Personally, I quite liked The Hunt, Let the Right One In and Downfall, but it's fair to point out that some of the stuff I watch is way out on the experimental/obscure end of the spectrum. And, you know, I still love The Breakfast Club. Smile

Me too, Dave. And I think that's all that matters: people should watch things that they think they will enjoy. But it's always good to push our boundaries sometimes, whether it be me watching Terminator 2 or TP watching some foreign 'arthouse' film that isn't Salo or the 1000 Days of Sodom, which I do not recommend to anybody. Laughing

Agree - Watch the Movies you think you enjoy and the ones you want to watch.

Should not matter what kind of Movie it is and who made it

Come on David.

You well know ones life isn't complete until you see at least one movie where people gorge themselves on a giant plate of turds.

Never again, though.
