That's fine. I hope we go after Dangerfield and get him for nothing. That'd be better than eating into our depth by trading draft picks and players for someone. On the other hand Bucks had said in the past that we'd wait until we're in our premiership window before pulling the trigger on signing a big name free agent. So we might wait until the end of 2016 before making a move.

Are there any big forwards available from GWS? perhaps we can do a deal?

Scharenberg to Adelaide...

Rory Sloane or whatever to GWS...

McCarthy or the oft injured Patton to Collingwood...

We don't need them.
Scharenberg WILL sign.
We aren't as heavily into Treloar as the media suggests. It's all a ruse.
We are much more heavily into Dangerfield than anyone has suggested and we WILL get him.

The Cats can't afford him AND Henderson. They would need to force 3 or 4 of their most experienced players into retirement, most likely Mackie, Stokes and Enright to gain both and neither of them would cover the role played by any of those 3.

Geelong are too proud to dip down as far as we have to transition their list properly, which is why they have been topping up over the last few years (Rivers, Stanley, Clark, McIntosh, Blease). Anyone can see that Clark isn't working out, and that his head isn't really ready, which is why they need Henderson more than they need Danger. They've dug themselves a hole these last few years by trying to "bring the Geelong boys home" the way they did with Boak and now Danger. What they didn't count on was Clark not being ready to return to footy, as much as he thought he was. Now they have one chance to either get the player they need in Henderson, or the player they want in Danger. As far as a professional football club goes, a need should always take priority over a want, so Geelong will put up a front that they put their best offer on the table, but it wasn't enough to lure Danger, when in reality, they can't have him because their strategy didn't pay off and now they have to fix it.

I think Danger to Geelong is almost a done deal. Time will show this to be a fact.

EFA.

Personally, I see either the Crows or the Pies as likely to have Danger on their list in 2016.

If we can afford to offer Treloar $750,000 over 5 we can afford $900,000 over 6 to land Danger with no trade in sight.

It's a no brainer for me that we should be moving heaven and earth to get him given the experience we've lost from our list these past through years and his undoubted talent.

Doesn't turn 26 till April next year.

Go get him pies!

Essendon traded Ryder for Ports 1st (17) and 2nd (37) round picks. Don't think Carlisle is worth as much as Ryder so maybe our 1st which is potentially a top 10 pick (possibly a sweetener like an exchange of 2nd round picks) would get the deal done. Particularly as Essendon have blood on their hands with the peptide issues.

More important for me though, is he the player we want/need particularly with possible WADA sanctions hanging over his head?

Would we be better off if we could land say Danger this year using our draft picks and then securing an additional KPP via FA in 2016? Who is available under FA in 2016?
