There would obviously be some risk involved, but I wonder if Libba and Bennell will be on the trade discount rack come season's end ... _________________ All We Can Be |

Not beyond the realms of possibility.
Nothing to stop Dayle Garlett doing a Nathan Krakouer either although I'm not sure if he's even playing footy anywhere at the moment.
Might be a few talented bad boys up for grabs. |

Caff's signing for 2016 pretty much foretells or confirms that Young, Dwyer and Armstrong are the likely departures at season's end.
Young's career is over I suspect. Not a success for us, but I wish him well.
Dwyer I could see getting another chance elsewhere so he might keep the dream alive. Failing that he could be a VFL signing for us depending on his other career aspirations.
I will fondly remember Armstrong for his two games in one day effort (with a long drive up from Geelong in between if I recall correctly). _________________ All We Can Be |

A lot of talk about getting Treloar from GWS, but what about these high draft picks playing in the NEAFL?

For mine if we going to chase someone and throw big $$ ate them to be our next star mid then I would go for Jaegar O'Meara (subject to medical clearance on his knee)
The kid oozes class very good off both sides by hand or foot. Can play in and under and win his own pill as well as get it on the outside and run and carry.
He is known as a hell of a trainer and utter professional would suit out style to a tee.
Also after the recent happenings at the Suns I wouldn't be surprised if he wouldn't want to move for there. Yes he's a west Aussie but he lives breathes AFL and being in the heartland at a big club might be a big enough carrot not to have to pay overs.
Depending on Swanny we could have ample room to make a huge play for 1 or 2 guns for 2017 onwards |

Is this a plausible deal to get Bennell? (It assumes that Bennell and GCS want to part ways at season's end given the recent revelations).
Pies 1st, 2nd [and 3rd (unlikely to be used by Pies in any event)]
for
Bennell + GCS 2nd
so
GCS already has (approx) pick 1 and get picks (approx) 10, 28 [and 46] [2 more (net gain of 1) picks in top 30 which is what is being talked about as the depth of this next draft]
and
Pies get Bennell (former pick #2 with 70-odd games and some baggage) + (approx) pick 19.
Assuming no other trades/FA, then Pies add Frost (upgrade), Bennell and pick 19 to the main list (with Keefe, Thomas and Young coming off). _________________ All We Can Be

I was keen on the Pies picking up Giles last season for ruck depth (he can also kick a goal). Given he can't get a game at Essendon, I wonder if he can be had cheaply, maybe even put him on the rookie list as the nominated rookie (which would otherwise be Gault in 2016 I imagine). _________________ All We Can Be |

There are going to be veterans who fall out of the likes of Geelong. What would people think of picking up Stevie J if he were delisted? In full flight he would make our forward line more potent.
Probably has 1 or 2 years he could contribute (even if he was managed and only played half the games) and I'm sure he would teach some of our young guns a thing or two. _________________ All We Can Be |

We should be looking at making a trade for McCarthy, our 1st and 4th round picks should be a good starting point. _________________ A Collingwood supporter since the egg was inseminated. |

Yep, it is looking as though they will have to part ways one way or another. _________________ All We Can Be |

You can understand how they can afford to lose a kid like Treloar when they've got so many other waiting for opportunities but I like the idea of trying to grab a couple of their kids who are battling at the edges of selection rather than 1 player. |

Not so much a fan of this. We've got pretty good depth as it is, I think we should be after one of two things: top end talent or an extra top up mid-aged player.
Bringing in players is always a risk. I think we're in a position where we don't desperately need any additions, so should only be making moves for a great fit that we know is ready to produce. _________________ Well done boys! |
