All right then.

Who was the bright spark who had the cunning plan to give the players valium before the game tonight. Own up?

I want names.

Yeah. Just so long at the valium wasn't laced with Clenbuterol. Razz

Got served a huge dose of reality. A nice big fat reality burger with a side of humble pie. Lesson to be learned Pies, you are not good enough yet to play with no intensity for a half and escape with a win. The Cats are a middle rung team, and we looked like a side who had 3 easy wins against bottom sides.

What do we do with that mind job up forward? How can we possibly contemplate beating any team noteworthy with this guy spraying them all over the place week in and week out. Just do not know! Help me understand, please!!!! I'm begging you, someone, please explain how, how, howwww!!! Arrrrrrrrrgh!!!!

Okay - let's just roll with this then...
But plain to see when Pendles is held, the rest of the plan goes to the shithouse. Crisp continually held off the ball, thus he can't generate run.
These f*ckers did their homework on us. We got out-tackled, and out-harassed, particularly in the first half.
Arsehats: Cloke White Swan Elliott Blair and Dwyer.
Very disappointing coming from senior players; overpaid ones at that for what they deliver might I add. All started with Elliott, who dropped that absolute SODA in the goal square early in 1st quarter. And it all went to shit from there.
Arses handed to them by a team of no-names and front runners.
We know the kids are going to have down games, but preferably not in the same f*cking night.
And we know Armstrong had no hope of holding his spot for next week with the amount of ball coming in to D50. So please, can everybody not crap on about it any further. Not like he cost us the game.

Geelong too old? Could have fooled me.

He should know. Think back to the 1998 Grand Final.

Not one to defend this doofus, but he is right.
And IIRC, the 1998 GF had an absolute swirling whore of a breeze slaughter North's kicking at goal in that 1st half, costing them the flag.
The f*ckwits in out forward line don't have that excuse.

Dyso

True. I forgot to type that he still has a point.

Coaching ineptitude on full display this week.

Selection of Armstrong, mind- blowing lay bad.

Allowing Enright to drift across half back, unaccounted for, all night, even worse.

Witts either in ruck or on the bench; only Grundie-dog can rest forward.

Too soft at the contest.

The only bright spot is that tonight's game will provide many coaching opportunities.

We had only 10 players with more than 50 games experience on the park tonight.

Looking for the return of Sidey, Rams, Seedsman and one of De Goey or Gault next week..

This is a young group and it will get better.

apparently, this year, every team that has played carlton has lost the week after.

Eww, must have picked up Carlton germs.

Our young players should have learned a hell of a lot from that game, it was like an accelerated learning module which was always at risk of happening after the last two weeks of poor opposition and now up against a proud team fighting for respect.

{translation} we got took to school. Big time.

Take out the first quarter and that 3 minute burst in th last and we can put together some positives. Good time for that to happen, I'm tipping it wont happen again this season.

Agreed-

yet did say the same thing after Adelaide game Wink

Losing two attacking backmen killed us-lack of cohesion in defense.

Cats palyed out of their arse and had luck on their side in the first q and a bit. Everything they touched turned to gold and we just shat ourselves.

Elliot is just a bit off this year- but is pushing mcuh more through midfield.

Cloke and White are momentum killers- sucking out all the energy of teammates hard work.

Crisp is a ripper. As is Grundy.
Adams a bit off- but still played his heart out.

Pendles did his best to get us back into it. Swanny too inconsistent.

Tooves, Browny and the boys down back worked their bums off.

Broomhead will be a star.

Tone decision backfired.

The year will be filled with a few more games like that- just need to ride the wave and hopefully sneak some finals experience into the young'uns

Cats came out to play tonight. All this talk about them being too old is rubbish and probably fired the up. Can't believe we were favourites to win...

In regards to cloke/white's goal kicking, can someone from the cheer squad hold up a target so that the boys can aim at? If this doesn't work, then nothing probably will!

you're on some good shit if you think Judd gets anywhere near 80% efficiency!! He's lucky if he gets 70% most weeks.

Cloke should hang his head in shame for accepting 800k a year and miss shots from 30 out when the game hang in the balance. What the %$^£$%^&%% is wrong with this guy? Is he stupid? Can't take lessons from specialist goal kickers that we assign to him year after year? But, I guess, if his father is giving him instructions, he will always be a pathetic kick from 40 out. David Cloke couldn't kick to save himself.

You know I think that the mental pressure argument is wrong in Cloke's case. You look at the way he sets up to take a shot at goal. His stance is all wrong. He leans too far to one side and then tries to correct this by moving his leg in the other direction. The result is like a wonky golf swing. Sometimes it hooks and sometimes it slices. The ONLY way to an accurate kick is that same as the principles of a good golf swing. The shoulders have to be aligned straight and the club brought through the ball in a pure mechanical motion. Cloke is all over the place and blames it on mental pressure. Sorry, it is technique not psychology. That's why it is too late to correct this fatal flaw in his game. A sad waste of talent.

Agree whole heartedly !!!. On the short kicks at goal his routine is quite different and he lifts his head as he drops the ball...probably like his chip shots

We are a young side and I expect to have poor games but tonight it appeared that maybe we have got carried away in our wins thus far and got ahead of where we really are. The teams we have beaten so far look as if they will take up the lower rungs on the ladder. Our poor disposal and constant turnovers were to the fore tonight.

We missed the run of Seedsman and the tenacity of Ramsay and although Gault has not had many possessions or goals to date, our forward line structures up better when he is playing.

Armstrong was the wrong selection. White is running out of chances and Cloke is knocking the stuffing out of team with his poor kicking...but what alternatives do we have? Blair had a quiet night but he was not the worst.
