An explosion in the heart of Istanbul's historic Sultanahmet tourist district killed at least ten people and wounded 15 on Tuesday and some local media reports said a suicide bomber may have been responsible.

Several bodies lay on the ground in the Sultanahmet square, close to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, a major tourist area of Turkey's most populous city. A police officer and witness at the scene reported also seeing several bodies and body parts.

So it seems another coward - so sad we stayed a hotel a couple of minutes from here that overlooked Hagia Sophia for a week - it was beautiful and the mainly male Kurdish staff were brilliant - they played Backgammon with us on the balcony whilst we enjoyed a beer - and scolded Scott for paying too much for his Backgammon set bought at the famous Grand Bazaar - but hey all part of the experience!

Tourism is vital to their livelihoods - this can't be good - bastards!
