To be honest, I think one reason for our much improved disposal efficiency tonight, was the lack of real pressure applied by Carlton.

It was nowhere near one of our best wins, but it was a good win nonetheless. All we can do is knock over who is thrown at us each week. Bring on the Cats.

bruise free footy. it's an indictment on a team when the oppo has more possesions AND more tackles. they were very ordinary.

as you'd hope, we're looking more cohesive as each week goes by and the minimal week to week changes helps this. it also helps when a coach backs you in. the game plan was and is going to take time to learn to perfect. we've still got a way to go but we're slowly getting there. i am rapt for some of the young guys who are getting reward for effort.

We should thank Mick for the training run. Really helped with our skills training tonight. (OMG Cloke, really? I'm not the only one shutting my eyes now, we can't all be jinxes).

Flaked it when I got home, best sleep I've had in months, awesome, just awesome. When was the last time we got to relax happily at the footy? I really can't remember!

We have a committed 22 every week, no passengers. Great to watch.

Especially love Crisp and Oxley.

We an get a few more wins before we face some tough teams. This is building really well.

Jesse white is still committed, Unfortunately not very good at playing football.

I think Grundy in the forward line last quarter might be a sign that he will be the forward to replace white and Witts comes in to be ruckman.

Structurally it is important to have White
and Gault.
For the first time we have a structure and game plan
capable of winning a majority of games.

Sorry it doesn't look like anyone here has mentioned our disposal efficiency - 80%!!! Yes you read that correctly - 80%. Un-fn-believable.

OK we didn't play much of a team in the filth but as with the Saints game it wasn't like we just sat there and settled for a 4-5 goal win. We kept going for 4 full quarters and kept the foot on the throat.

Does everyone realise that of the past 12 quarters we've played we've only lost 2 and even those were only by 1 and 7 pts??

Easy to keep grounded though... haven't played any big guns yet although plenty have Bummers pushing for top 4 so maybe things won't be so bumpy when we do face the Dawks, Freo, Port, Sydney et al.

Loved every second of it last night. Surprisingly I felt there were a few negatives but I'm not even going to worry about them. If they're truly something to worry about we'll know about it come selection time on Thursday.

Keep this going Pies.

Disagree he is not a passenger just not very good.
When Witts is ready he will come in replacing one of White or Gault.
Prefer Gault to play seniors as he may make it. However the side lacks a lot of experience so White could stay.

The three talls is working although we need to play a quality side or two to really find out.

IF Micks Scum go down next week to the Bears, reckon the ol bloke will be gone by the following Tuesday, at latest, without Kernahan and Swann there now, his days are truly numbered.

Anybody know what the injury to Pendlebury's hand is?

The Chan 7 interviewer said when presenting him with the watch for best-on-ground that he wouldn't pass it to Pendlebury because he's got "a bit of a sore hand".

A little girl handed it to him and he took it. So not sure what that quote's about.

That was glorious to witness, just disappointed we didn't thrash them by 100 points!
Pendles ran riot without Carrazzo tagging him, Crisp is fast becoming one of my favourites. Adams in and under work was top class as per usual, but he is starting to hit targets and improve his disposal. Oxley is a good kick that lace out kick to Blair to set up our first goal was pure class. Brown is fast becoming a good incept mark in the backline, a role normally assumed by Reid in his heyday. Frost's awareness to leave his man and closing speed to make a spoil is in the words of Bruce "special". Ramsey, Marley and Seeds all gave good rebound. Grundy looked good in the ruck and was dangerous when he went forward. The forward line is still dysfunctional (White and Cloke can't kick a set shot to save themselves) but structurally the combination of Cloke, White and Gault looks the goods. Not sure whether brining in Witts at the expense of White or Gault would upset the structure or improve things- bringing in Witts may impact Grundy's current good form.
And as for the scum, glad that we reinforced that they will have to resort to tanking to elevate them from where they are now- bottom feeding, muck raking scum!

Was in the post-match interview in the rooms.

Pendlebury was standing there with a microphone in his left hand. The Chan 7 interviewer holding the Tissot watch said on air "Scotties got a bit of a sore hand so I'll just hold this for him" (ie, instead of presenting it to him). So it must be Pendlebury's right hand that was "sore".

Overall the draw so far and for the next few weeks is very kind. But this is what our developing team needs. It can be significant what a team who is about to start to climb the ladder can achieve with a sequence of lower opponents. It gives a young team a chance to get wins, build confidence, share the ball around and practice their game plan. This is exactly what the Port of now built their current team on. What they went through in early 2013 when they played all the bottom teams in the first few weeks became the foundation for the climb. They fell away and tired when they hit the best teams later in 2013 and recovered towards the end. Then in 2014 they carried that confidence into the year and won almost all their matches in the first half before falling away again, but later in the year. Again they recovered to almost make the Grand Final.

We are following the same curve but a year behind which I would argue is because of the massive injury toll in the last three years. So far this year looks a lot like last year. I am hoping we can sustain our performances for longer and then if we drop away we can recover towards the end so we can carry confidence into 2016. This team is doing well considering that close to half of our talent is yet to arrive which is exciting to know and gives us hope for the short to long term.
