Post subject: Magpie Scharenberg set to return 8 months post knee-reco | |
|
COLLINGWOOD's prized youngster Matt Scharenberg looks set to return this week, just eight months after undergoing a knee reconstruction.
The No.6 pick in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft, Scharenberg ruptured his ACL in August last year and has been in full training in recent weeks.
He was drafted with concerns of stress reactions in his feet, before opting for surgery in February last year. He returned to play four games in the VFL, only to go down with a season-ending knee injury.
AFL.com.au understands that barring any setback this week at training, the 19-year-old will play against Footscray in the VFL on Saturday.
Meanwhile, fellow South Australian Ben Kennedy a chance to return after fighting a virus in recent weeks.

That's great stuff. No way would they be rushing him so he must be doing really well. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Let's hope all goes well from here, I'm not expecting him to push for senior duties this year (but it would be a nice surprise) but if he can be amongst our best VFL players by years end that will do me: _________________ Defender...........

Just looking at his bio on the Pie site and I like this bit the most

I thought he only played defence so that's a pleasant surprise. Also noticed he'd grown 1 cm since they wrote that _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

Him, Oxley and langdon all around the same height, all good movers, users of the ball and good over head. None of them are KPP but all can play utility roles and potentially midfield.
Oxley actually reminds me of Gavin Crossisca a little, another QLD boy. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

we are going to have a lot of multidimensional players. we won't survive if we don't. nearly all our players can fulfill a secondary role or are being groomed to. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |
