Sounds like a great idea in theory, in practice I smell a second israel if you could ever get those existing countries to give away part of their territory to set the new state up. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Turkey would be unlikely to ever cede their territory (and Iran even less so), but Iraq and Syria no longer have any effective control over the Kurdish provinces. They're autonomous provinces with their own culture, religions and history. Unless there is a particular desire amongst the Kurdish peoples to become part of a new, re-formed Iraq or Syria (whatever the names of those countries even mean any more), then I think assisting them in attaining full independence should be encouraged. They have already suffered greatly at the hands of imperialist governments, and will suffer again in the future at the hands of the intolerant if their governance is left with people who hate them. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

But before we try to "assist" them, is there any oil, minerals or objects of historical significance in the Kurdish areas? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
