He did OK and he is getting experience while Witts gains form in the VFL
Do they drop Gault or White when Witts is ready?
White has more experience but is not a very good player.
We have a very inexperienced team do we go with Witts and Gault and lower the age of the side?

I pick Gault at least he has the potential to be a good player.

I've seen nothing in the last 3 games that gives me great confidence, the boy looks lost! Not sure how he earned another crack tbh, White not much better. If Karnezis doesn't get a full game before either of them next week, I'll spew. Don't get me wrong, I like the kid but he's clearly not ready.

I have watched the replays of the last 2 weeks
and he has done reasonably well when you look closely
at his input.
He can play back and forward and we have very few KPP
left.
Get the games into him. He will be a good player.

This. I hadn't seen it in the previous games but on Friday night this is how he looked. Worrying when a player looks lost. White may end up lost but you can't say he doesn't look like he knows where he's supposed to be or what he's supposed to be doing.

Obviously they've wanted to give him a shot but I suspect a spell in the twos to regain his confidence - assuming we have a suitable replacement..

I'm a fan, but something is not working at the moment. Would prefer the beast Witts as he will exceed Grundy at centre bounces and rest nicely up forward, whilst Grundy is roaming and causing greater havoc around the ground.

Ultimately I think Gault and White are playing for the same position.

He hasn't set the world on fire but I prefer him to White.

He's done some small things to suggest he's worth persisting with. We need him to get stronger, to be able to impose himself in a marking contest, and be able to clunk them consistently. I say keep playing him for now.

Big men take a fair while to develop, amd .gault is possibly in that category. He shows promise, so keep pumping the games into him and see what we've got after he's played enough to assess trajectory.

Neither Witts nor Grundy have set the world on fire as a forward when they were down there last year, so i don't think we're missing out.

look at his second efforts, the 1%ers, the tackles, the smothers, the tap ons etc.

No argument he isn't dominating as a big key forward, this time 12 months ago he was a VFL rookie who most supporters thought would be delisted at end of 2015. So how far has he come since then?

The only way he's going to learn what's required at AFL level is to have a go at it with some continuity. As to his contribution, well we haven't lost a game this year with him in the side. Cool

Still developing. Only played a handful of games. Was in the middle of the group when they sang the song after the game. Think he should of been there last week as Anzac Day was probably the first win he played in.

What stands out to me is that he has a good launch and strong hands when he goes for a mark. See the mark late in the game under real heat.

This is where he has a real advantage over Jesse White who drops so many that he gets his hands to, even when not under pressure.

May yet become an important player.

Gault looks off the place of AFL for mine and is still just a big raw project in development.

He needs to go back to the VFL for that development though and look to excel as a forward for 3 or 4 weeks in a row.

In reality Gault is yet to string dominate performances together at VFL level over many weeks.

He's not dissimilar to Dawes prior to 2010 in that respect.

He'll be exposed even further by the experience of the Geelong defence I fear if he plays this week.

Witts is just the better player right now because he is obviously the far better ruck choice and wont have to do a lot to match the output of Gault up forward.

It will allow Grundy to spend more time forward as well which is an area he needs further development in and has shown promise in at U18 level.

It's reasonable to believe that both Grundy and Witts will improve as individual players as each year passes and not unreasonable to believe that as they do there collective output will also grow and they will compliment each other.

After a month of football Witts looks ready to return and if Gault makes way for him I see it as a win win.

Gault needs to go back to the VFL for mine, learn to dominate from week to week and come back a better player for it.

Wow, just had one of those weird déjà vu moments.... feels like last week, or was the week before....

Reckon Witts would come in to replace Gault when ready. Kinda want Gault to get another week though as it means he will have had a month which sounds about right for a taste.

Someone was calling for PK to come in to replace White or Gault but they seem to be using him as a running player rather than forward target.

Well considering he's looked off the pace for 3 weeks it makes sense.
