Awesome! When he went down last year I thought we wouldn't see this kid till 2016. Quietly gained confidence from the great training reports provided by many over summer, for him to be playing this weekend is a huge effort well done young fella _________________ Tear the roof off tha sucker!!! |

Possibly next week, certainly not this week. Still awesome nonetheless. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Fantastic, allows him a good run of VFL games to build form and fitness for a senior debut late in the season. Everything crossed for the kid. |

If he's as good as the club suggests, then you'd hope that he'd be ready for a call up to the seniors after about 8 VFL games. This would have him ready for the second half of the season and our push to the finals. Sounds a plan. |

Can't wait to see this boy get his first AFL game, which surely must be this year. He's had awful luck for 18 months; he deserves some spotlight. _________________ After the epic draw comes the decisive knockout!

We've got to remember he basically missed the whole of last year, has not played this year yet and played very little footy in 2013 due to the foot injury. So we can expect he will take time just to get the hang of playing again. _________________ Magpies love pies(Lol) |

He's missed just way too much footy for me to expect him to break through this year, I will just be very happy if he is playing a very high standard of football in the VFL consistently, through the last half of the season. |

Yes, and most players take many games after returning from a major knee injury to hit best form. Tooves is a good example. Last year I thought he was gone, and this year I think he's back (including his disposal, sadly - that's back too).
Schazza will take time. i hope and expect that he'll be worth the wait. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

I'm surprised at the speed of his recovery. Without being able to name any specific players other than McCaffer, there have been some that have taken way longer to recover from recos than others. Then some find form quicker than others. Shazza has been recruited as a potential elite footballer, with great vision and ability to read the play. A beautiful kick of the football as well. It may, I repeat MAY, be the case that form and fitness might come to him quicker than it might for a tough nut, battler, ruckman or KPP. So, just as a hunch, it wouldn't surprise me if he does crack it for a game after 6-8 weeks in the VFL. Around mid season. _________________ I'm not the pheasant plucker I'm the pheasant plucker's son, and I'll be plucking pheasants til the pheasant plucker comes! ahh, behold the beauty of YOUTH!
I've seen 8 year olds recover from broken bones in 2 weeks. teenagers just recover more quickly from injuries than 30 year olds. The body just heals faster. not surprised a young player would heal faster than an older player.
The trick is to make sure the younger player builds his strength up before testing it again. I hope he doesn't have to go hard the first 5 weeks he plays footy again. I hope also we wait 2 extra weeks from the date we are absolutely certain that he is ready to play VFL again. I hope we don't have him play AFL until the emotional and the physical injury is fully healed.
2016 for me unless we are making a real tilt at a premiership (and even then, no sooner than round 20 if we look like playing finals).
