Unlike leigh, Reid has a premiership. |
Where he broke his leg in the 3rd Quarter. |

Sadly... time to forget about him making the senior squad. We have to move on. Luckily it looks like Moore is a gem. _________________ Side By Side Forever |

Incredibly frustrating for us fans. But a fraction of the frustration he would feel. So respect for Ben. Let's not give up on him as he certainly won't be giving up. I hope he doesn't read the negative stuff and stays strong. _________________ Magpies love pies(Lol) |

I can't even remember what he looks like it's been so long since we've seen him on the park... _________________ http://youtu.be/hvtdbfI1sqQ |

This is why you never offer 4 year contracts to injury prone players. Could have traded him for quite a bit but now we're stuck paying a large chunk of our salary cap to a player who will be lucky to play another 5 games.

Might as well have been a nicks....
A) we'll get nicks out of him
B) we'll get nicks for him
C) before we know it he'll be retired and posting on nicks!! |

He is contracted for another 2 seasons after this season Thommo.
Horrendous luck considering he is only 25, I am at the point where I have to consider him an AA quality depth player from now on.
With his history of soft tissues leg injuries of all sorts it seems to me that he will never get back to full, season long match fitness and its very likely that his career won't be a long one.
Hope to be proven wrong but the writing seems to be on the wall.
So does this give an opening to young Darcy?
I know its not always optimal to play youngsters in the one's early but some can do it - witness one Len Thompson, brownlow medalist ruckman who played his first senior game in a final and basically never missed a game except through injuries thereafter.
Is it a coincidence that young Darcy is a noticeably better forward than defender but has been groomed to start his career down back?
If the club were deeply concerned with Reid's durability this would be one option they may have been contemplating and would explain the seemingly unusual decision to start him back. |

Good news. I did think it was unusual he hurt a quad in an impact injury so a corky is completely understandable.
Reid, 26 next week, is in the first season of a four-year deal signed 12 months ago.
When he gets up itll be for the long term, so were still in the same process, Buckley told Fox Footys AFL360.
We believe were going to get an All-Australian player back. I dont reckon hell play this week, but he could be back at training in a week.
Hes had a stiff run, but hes actually a lot better off now than he was and were more confident now then we were six months ago about the outcome for him.
He doesnt like being speculated on in this regard but this is part of the game.
Comments from the article demonstrate that the club is confident he'll get back to his AA best. |
