I would not drop young Gault, he did very well. jesse White, though, may need to be looked at, just doesn't do enough yet, for mine.

I thought Gault was good against StKilda on Friday, even though he didn't get many possessions. He competed well and got to the contests and was only let down by skill errors and lack of experience. He's a credit to the coaching staff who have spent long hours with him. His ruck work was excellent as well. He just needs to string a few games together and those skill errors will be ironed out and we'll get to see a very competitive player for us. It may not pan out like that however if the selectors deem Witts is ready and play him instead of Gault against Essendon.

The Pies have been keen to promote Moore after a succession of stand out performances in the VFL, and had been tempted to blood Moore for Anzac Day, but have chosen the more conservative path. Moore has been playing as a key defender in the VFL, and would be used as a tall back if he was promoted.

Reading that makes me Think he won’t play only IF 1 off Brown or Frost go down injured

that's what i was intimating.

if adams comes in who goes out? maybe gault if the weather is shite. pk gives us mobility and flexibilty as a forward, wing or even off half back if it got to that. if pk is retained, who goes sub? i doubt he'd get the vest two weeks in a row.

GAULT and PK are the 2 that can be Dropped for Adams

do we go with a forward who can ruck a bit or a ruck who can play forward? i'm inclined to want us to retain gault and play witts when grundy needs to be managed.

Have Grundy and Witts improved enough so together they can dominate Bellchambers as the game progresses and give our mids more first opportunity around the stoppages?

Who has been playing as the relief ruck for Essendon, I've overlooked it?

no one single player. they've shared it around.

Yep, Daniher and Carlisle both getting ruck time.

if you inspect the hitout stats there's four or five who have recorded hitouts as either the relief ruckman or possibly third man up. bellchambers has played approx. 80% game time in each of the games so is pretty much a one man band and they wear the risk when he is on the bench.

Bellchambers also knows how to take big marks & kick goals. Both Daniher & Carlisle are very tall & while KPP can carry out can carry out rucking duties more than adequately. The same can't be said for White.

For me the gamble with Witts is that it would be his first game back & will he have enough time for him to resume where he left off last year or even improve on the one day. The other issue is speed (not the amphetamine type either).

I'm inclined to bring Witts in as his ruck work is great & his marking is improving dare I say it: markedly .

If there is wet weather about I would not go with Witts…

Adams has to come in and I would drop Gault and keep PK, given he was the sub last week. So minimal changes…

In: Adams
Out: Gault

I'd expect that broarder spread to reflect 3rd map up type taps rather than players actually playing ruck as I've only seen Bellchambers, Daniher, and Carlisle in actual ruck duties.
