makes perfect sense.

The uni gives him an office and some title.

He gets to have the reflected credibility of being on the staff of an actual University, the uni gets the publicity and street cred of having a (apparently) popular media scientist on staff.

Win Win. The only loser is the public.

Is that where he is? No, never listen to triple J, my music taste is Triple M. The only 2 radio stations I listen to at home are Triple M or 774 ABC when the cricket is on.
