Post subject: What's the latest on Marsh? | |
|
For those who have seen some of the VFL practice games, can you let me know how Marsh is coming along. It seems he is being groomed as a fast running defender, which will be good, but I wondered if anyone thinks he has the potential to become a big bodied, fast running midfielder? That's what our team is crying out for....as well as a marking forward with footy smarts. |

17. Jonathon Marsh
Played a serviceable game on their 2nd and 3rd forwards. Starting to get his groove back, picking when to leave his man to come over/across for an intercept mark/spoil and when to stay tight. Thought his kicking had improved a little from his woeful standard of last year. |

I've been desperate to hear about how Marsh has been going. Will he play AFL this year all things being equal? |

If he recovers and continues his exponential improvement from last year (and his showing on Saturday was a solid first step), then yes, it's on the cards. _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

Too hard to tell, now, but if he keeps progressing, he could come in if needed. _________________ kill for collingwood! |

Can I add anecdotally Marsh seems to have a great attitude. He is level headed, conscientious, works hard and seems very determined. No hint of any arrogance or complacency. _________________ Magpies love pies(Lol) |

Went to vic park saturday and thought he was good again.
Had 2 very good weeks in a row as I thought he was very good against Melbourne 2nds as well (casey?)
He covers his man, tries to run off and be an option and is a leader.
The thing that stood out to me was moore and marsh always talking. .. giving instruction... at 1 stage a goal was kicked and marsh screamed at each defender to come in so they could regroup. .. loved it.
As far as being a mid option... id say thats a fair way off but a reliable defender at afl level... may be close |
