was thinking this last night. they'd probably give us two rookie upgrades, then maybe we can add two more rookies to the rookie list?

I'm guessing we'd just get to upgrade two of our rookies, at best, and I'm not even 100% sure we'd be allowed to do that. There's no precedent for a club being allowed to select top-up players from outside the league because their players have done something wrong (this year's pre-season practice matches are a different matter). No chance in hell, I'm afraid.

If that is the case then Frost will be one upgrade and the other to come from Armstrong, Abbott, manteit, cox, and Gault. So assume Gault would be the other and we'd try and pick up a mid and a tall from the feeder comps (assuming this allowed noting David's comment above)?

would only be able to upgrade existing rookies - in saying that, you cant upgrade for a player who gets 6+weeks suspension at tribunal so I cant understand why they would let us if they are effectively suspended for drugs.

May not able to elevate anyone !

The only reason Essendon were allowed top up players is because they pretty much couldn't field a full squad without them.

We will have two spots available for rookie upgrades. I would say one would be Gault, and the other will be used later on if one of Mantiet, Abbott or Cox is required.

Frost has already been elevated, so he's out of the conversation.

Edit: scrap that. It's doubtful any upgrade will be allowed. Hawthorn were not allowed to upgrade a rookie in Garlett's place when he was delisted early in the year, so there is precedence.

Gault may still be upgrade for Caff on LTI though.

I'm sure the Essendon top-players would not be allowed to play home-and-away games. It was only allowed to provide a squad for the practice matches.

Pretty sure Frost is already upgraded and we've still got one to come because of the Caff being on the LTI list. Pretty sure but correct me if I'm wrong!!

Good question, i certainly dont know the answer but my initial thoughts are that the club doesnt get " rewarded " because two players under its watch test positive for PEDs. ( in the first year at least ) and yes, i know the individuals are responsible for their own actions.
Still on worst case scenario, im wondering to what extent their contracts are impacted and what effect that would have to the salary cap.

Its just another can of worms the club didnt need.

Nope - We just lose 2 Lists Spots.

We are not Essendon so we won’t get any help from the Corrupt AFL

Isn't it a case of when rather than if?

We kept Josh on our list for several years waiting for him to recover from injury and Keefe was part of the leadership group.

So disappointing.

We go into the season with 2 less players and some long term injuries.

A long season awaits? 😣

Get Rid of Both and get new players in,

I doubt Thomas would ever be good enough to be a AFL Player and Keeffe has same Doubts

Not sure I'd play Abbott - has not kept up to promise shown before the draft. Likely to be delisted in 2016 if not before. Perhaps put him in charge of the cheer squad.

WTF? We aren't even at round 1 of his first year at the club.
I guess I can't complain. You've given him every chance to prove himself. :O

To me if we end up being without Thomas and Keeffe then it's no different to losing them to LTI.

They are hardly the calibre of Sidebottom and Cloke and while it means two less players to draw on losing them is no excuse for a terrible season if it was to occur.

This should unite the playing group if anything.
