Pretty much. Thomas might have played but they're both fringe imo. Keeffe just hasn't quite got it together since the knee. _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

Doesn't matter, we don't want junkies playing for us. _________________ Defender...........

It makes sense that they'd be stood down until then; players competing with the benefit of PEDs is obviously to be avoided where possible.
If it was 6 months until the next test, it'd be a different matter, and players would feel justifiably aggrieved at being stood down if the B test came back negative. But 2 weeks isn't a big deal in the scheme of things. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Yeah, same here. Both automatic first 22 picks nowadays, and were only getting better. Not like we have a wealth of experience to choose from any more. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Politically the club has to respect the provisional ban so we can look like we're doing the right thing.
Realistically, if the boys get off (B sample negative, contaminated meat ala Rogers etc) then we look like model citizens and gold stars all round for what - not playing an injured Keefe and a mid-range midfielder.
If they get done, it'll be like the Saad affair all over again - didn't know about it but accidentally took it so we have to do our time... delisted and maybe relisted later...

This
I don't care who it is, rules are rules.
But I'll be severely pissed if the numbers get off tomorrow. Systematic doping far worse.

Lachie's a bit of a favourite at our place, so this is really disappointing news. He was never going to play seniors before R2 anyway and even then he would have been pencilled in for the VFL I'd reckon.
Fingers crossed; that's really all we can do. _________________ After the epic draw comes the decisive knockout!

Pitty the Club didn't just go into denial about the whole thing and learn to keep a lid on this media beat up ! If ASDA rang and said listen you guys have got to players who have tested positive , I would have just said F off and stop trying to brand us like the real drug cheats over their in Windy Hill and just hung up. We would then merely issue a press release denying the whole thing and calling for a Royal Commission into ASDA! I would not accept the test results and commission our own tests which would be all clear ! Then demand an apology and compo from the AFL and ASDA. We must stand by our boys and defend our Club colours to the final stand like General MacArthur ! How dare these turds do this to us on the eve of the 2015 season and of course the Essendon announcement Tuesday! Conspiracy to deflect heat off them I say! Any fan on here who doesn't stand by our boys over this should be outed as traitor of the Club and have their membership stamped with a big T! These are two of our best young players and emerging champions! They are victims of a publicity seeking media stunt! This is a bigger conspiracy than the moon landing cover up! _________________ I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for. |
