It's a fair call given how odd it is that two players would test positive at the same time. I can't believe that two blokes would be sitting there together going "yeah let's take this, we'll never get caught".
As I said in my first post... let's get the full story before passing judgement with comments like "don't let the door hit you on the way out". If it's through contaminated meat how the hell do you prove it?
I just had a look back through Lachy's Twitter account but there's no tweets around Christmas/New Year so nothing there. I guess we wait for the press conference and the circus to start.
Bloody terribly just a few days out from the season.

| Saw on AFL.com that only the A sample has been tested, so they still need to test the B sample. From what I know, which granted isn't much, I think that means it's not classified as a positive reading at this stage. Interesting that the AFL come out and name these two players when just the "A" sample has tested positive but Crowley wasn't named and able to continue playing. Not good either way, thought Thomas was our Luke Ball replacement. |

Fair point, was watching the cricket yesterday with a bunch of mates and this topic came up, most felt that the AFL was becoming a distant memory for them due to all the "scandals" and that the urgency around the game for them was diminishing - we also made mention how the A-League was becoming a more exciting option of late (not that we thought it would surpass the AFL) but the feeling basically was MEH about today’s game.

Clenbuterol is a drug used for asthma that is also often used by body builders as a body sculpting drug that helps burn fat and build muscle. It is this effect of creating leaner meat with a higher muscle to fat ratio that has seen it used in meat production in some countries.

Exactly.
They seem to be nice boys but honestly the club (and the AFL) needs to make a stand.
But then again if the Essendopers get off, then the AFL will have no credibility anyway.

Local Footy is looking good for this year. Pity I've paid for my membership. Not damn happy. |
Yeah because at local footy they don't use PEDS, just Ice.

Josh Thomas was in the US in the off season and was mugged and was injured. Hopefully he went to mexico and dined out on some contaminated meat too...

We don't know the full story as yet and who knows perhaps this substance can find it's why into the system from an everyday source like meat like some have suggested.
