We didn't t get shafted in the Beams deal. We got rid of an overpaid, slow outside mid. Getting replacements was just a bonus. |

If it's proven Crisp did place a bet on afl and especially his own team, and we are a long way from there. But if true I hope he gets a 6 month ban. Betting on afl is the sleeping giant that's happening and can bring our game down.
If players are placing bets against their own team like hunter seems to have done, that is devastating for fans.
The afl can't be lenient on the next player in a betting scandal, it needs to come down real hard. _________________ Collingwood = Everything Carlton dream to be. |

Well it all depends on what sort of bet he placed on the team? If he placed it on a win well that is fair enough (he is going to be out for leather to win the game. Then on the other hand if he placed it on a loss, then he should be out for two years minimum. |

I'm intrigued with the Hunter situation. Supposedly someone else used his account. Really? Even if true, I wonder how they prove that. To me it's like doping cases; you alone are responsible for what goes into your body. With gambling, you alone should be responsible for your gambling accounts. It will be very interesting to see how the AFL play this one. Heater copped the 8 weeks (I think it was actually 14 but some was suspended) and ok, fair enough. The AFL better be consistent. Didn't Bock get suspended for something gambling related too? With online accounts how is anyone going to ever prove that you did or didn't place the bet? Should be no mercy as there is no clarity and transparency. _________________ "The night is a very dark time for me" Chaz Michael Michaels |

They did that with Heater, Dave. The question is will they be consistent? _________________ "The night is a very dark time for me" Chaz Michael Michaels |

IIRC, it was Eddie that set the ban for Shaw not the AFL? _________________ Four legged animals good, two legged animals better |

Correct, at least as I understood. It was club imposed. _________________ No Pressure, No Diamonds

Yes but I dare say there was some heavy coercion from the AFL.
If clubs were totally autonomous at setting penalties then Carlton players would be loading up on games with the backing of their administration. 😜 _________________ "The night is a very dark time for me" Chaz Michael Michaels |

I'm pretty sure Heater's ban was from the AFL. 14 weeks with 6 weeks suspended and fines $20,000.
Maxwell was given a $10,000 fine with half of that suspended. |
