Post subject: What's Nick doing now?
|
Every now and then (about every 4 or 5 years) I post something to show what Nick is up to.

For those who don't know who I'm talking about - Nick is the Nick of Nick's. He'd just turned 11 when he started this site and he'll be 31 this year - doesn't seem that long! Although still a one-eyed pie, he's a muso first these days. |

Yegods—that's some trippy camerawork.
Thanks for posting, Mike. He's got a good voice for it. Does he ever play in Melbourne? _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Not so much now David, he's moved back here to go back to uni for another change in direction,
He still goes back to Vic occasionally to play jazz and blues gigs at clubs and wineries. |

Nice post Mike! Your son's a very talented musician.
It feels a little surreal to be listening to a song by a musician who has a whole forum named after him that we frequent nearly everyday. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

Considering that room wouldn't have the worlds best acoustics and it looks like it was filmed on a phone camera, that's some quality singing and guitar there. Get him to open his eyes and get him in a real studio with real equipment and yikes.

Thanks Stui, I agree with you that with the right support he could really go places with his music. He's multi-faceted: plays several instruments and has a superb voice and feel for the music, but, and it's a big but, he has no desire or ambition to do anything with his music but play... and he loves to play. I think it's a freedom for him: his music is his and he doesn't need to conform, and he hangs on to that freedom resolutely. |

The updates are a bit few and far between, and I'm aware that, when they do come, they come from me and not Nick, but it's good to know that you like to hear what he's up to. |
