I just love Toovs. Man he is so brave in how he goes in and gets the ball, knocks it away from opposition and also brave in his decision making. He was fantastic tonight.

Agree - it looks like he has finally got his mojo back after that horrible injury some time ago

His kicking is a worry. The rest of his game is no worries. A great servant of Collingwood and well worth his place on tonights showing.

Considering he was a rookie elevation and kicking has never been his strong suit, he has carved out a damn fine career.
Should always be remembered as getting the absolute best out of himself.

Don't apologize it deserved to be repeated.

Toovey is the poster boy for hard work and dedication. A credit to himself and our club.

As an aside have we had a better one on one player aside from Gavin Brown (the best one on one player for his size I've ever seen) than Tooves?

Short, medium and tall, Tooves has beaten forwards of all sizes. His regular arse whippings of Jack Darling despite giving away height and weight are beautiful to behold.

Was the type of game he played tonight that made his team mates walk taller. His ability to get to a contest when seemingly out of position is second to none. Loved his game tonight.

Played well tonight. I've always sensed that Toovey hasn't been the same player since he sustained a serious knee injury on ANZAC Day back in 2013 but maybe his good form from the 2010-2012 days is returning.

His kicking is still questionable but his pressure and determination tonight was immense. As Dave as noted, he was brilliant in the last five minutes when the match was on the line for us.

A fit and firing Toovey makes our side look better! He was the shadow of himself last year.

Both Tooves and Nathan Brown looked like they are 'back to normal'. Just doing what we'd expect.

Loved seeing Toovey at his best against Brisbane. His ability to shut down the oppositions most dangerous non-key forward is a real strength of Collingwood. His disposal kicking is still a worry but has got a lot better over the years since it appears he has a good understanding of what he is capable of and as the great Clint Eastwood famously said "A man's gotta know his own limitatios". I think Toovey has a pretty good understanding of what he can and can't do.

A fully fit Toovey and Brown will make an enormous difference to our defence this year.

The physical recovery time from a knee reco is anywhere between 3 and 12 months, the mental recovery time seems to be set at about 12 months after the first game back. It takes time before you develop the confidence that the joint is stable and will cope with what you need to do.

His hit on Lewis Taylor was awesome. I thought they were a little daunted by our physicality from that point to be honest.
