Should play Round 1.
White and Cloke can fight it out for the 2nd tall vacancy. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Our man Gault is starting to blossom. Don't think his ruck work was as good this game but certainly impacted up forward. Is certainly making selectors think that there is an alternative to White.
Still remember Stui and I standing alone defending this kid on these boards. Hasn't made it yet but heading in the right direction. |

Ramsay, Gault, and Crisp will make the grade, really impressed at this stage. |

His rate of improvement has been remarkable. if we take a step back from the top level, this kid could be a very good role player for a long time. i don't expect him to rival carey but he can do a job and do it well which is what you want. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

I was there today and watched him closely. He is starting to get some continuity without the regular injuries. You can see his confidence growing each week. He has many attributes to be a good marking forward. In fact he is good overhead, quick on the lead, agile, good at ground level, quite a good set shot, conscientious and has the perfect sized body now. He could end up a surprise packet. _________________ Magpies love pies(Lol) |

I too am liking the development Cory Gault is showing. Could be the Leigh Brown replacement we have been crying out for since 2011.
The good news is that he is still very young for a big guy and will only get better with another couple of seasons to strengthen his body and gain more experience.
Not sure he will be in our best 22 just yet but give him another year and I think he will be ahead of Jesse White and Lachan Keefe for that third tall / back-up ruck.
Just wish he would learn to get both hands up for the marking contest rather than try to take control of the ball with one hand while pushing his opposition with the other. I assume as he gets a stronger body this skill will come. _________________ Collingwood Domination. Envy of the Nation! |

he showed a fair amount today. I agree. time will tell if he can handle the step up in intensity during real games. NAB cup sometimes is more at a VFL speed which can sometimes make kids look better than they are. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

I think he looks pretty good leading out from full forward. Looks faster on the lead than Cloke, can take a good grab and an accurate kick. He also allows Cloke to get up the field more and open up the forward line.
No a fan of his rucking but he's competitive and provides a contest - but is a backup only. |

Agree. Obviously over the OP now so hopefully can start to build the core fitness he's lacking so he doesn't get pushed about so easily. |

I take it you are suggesting his 5 touch performance against the hawks in the last round of the year when we played our reserves team and the hawks just wanted a nice easy hit out before the finals proves he is ready to play consistent 4 quarter footy for 22 weeks a year where teams actually bother to learn his name much less game plan to stop him......
Yeah, he proved everything last year mate. nice work.... _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |
