Watched the first 3 quarters before streaming issues.

No big deal as our performance and the game was God awful to watch.

Hope this isn't what we've been working on over summer as I saw nil improvement.

The real stuff can't start soon enough for me.

Thanks for that player summary 'MightyMagpie.'

I missed the game so can anybody help out with some answers please?

Who took our kick-ins and was the strategy to kick longer and then back across goal? That's what they have been doing at training so I'm curious if it carried over.

Where did Ramsay play?

Did Williams get a run through the middle?

Did any of Thomas, Kennedy and Williams hit a target?

How did our forward line look? Did Patty look any good?

New boys: did Freeman play?

We were too short defensively and a one tall short up forward. That was just player management though and these things happen in meaningless NAB cup hitouts.

Overall we played absolutely shithouse excepting about 15 minutes at the end of the first and beginning of the second quarter. Swannie and Pendles just went through the motions and Trav looked rusty as hell. Despite the big wraps Broomhead was a disappointment again and Karnezis was largely unsighted. On the other hand Gault really impressed, Crisp showed a bit, Greenwood cracked in, Sinclair was again good and Brown was better than last game.

Just a really lacklustre affair and one I'm not getting too concerned with and going by body language post match neither are anyone at the club.

Hopefully next match sees a lift in intensity as these carnival atmosphere games seem to produce a noticeable lack of passion (not that there is anything really to play for excepting general touch and match fitness).

for your last question, no. freeman played down at geelong yesterday and performed well.

the rest can be summed up as: not discernible on tv, off half back, might have but had a poor game, kenno did, dysfunctional, so so.

Oxley and Langdon took some kick ins i can recall. I'll stand corrected, but I think the intent was more direct than crossing back.

Ramsey in defence.

Williams appeared to be on various midfielders at times.

Freeman was BOG in VFL. didn't play.

Patty was cold today (hot last game). Cloke and Gault often double teamed. Fasolo was good. Forward line struggled with poor delivery over all - a la 2014. de Goey was forward a fair bit. if he plays i can see it being forward pocket or coming on as sub into the midfield.

Having Witts, Reid, White, Keeffe, Frost, and Moore unavailable and that's to be expected.losing Grundy compounded that. Hopefully we aren't in the situation where Langdon has to mind a Henderson type come the H&A season.

Missed the first half action.
Best on ground for the pies in the second half for mine was Sinclair,
next best Williams, Langdon & Brown. Pies could have won but kicking
for goal was sub standard for professionals but when your hearts not in it
you would expect that. We looked a lot like the injury riddled team of 2014
the same contested game style that tries to arrest a flow on of goals to the
opponents we're playing and when we're on the counter attack the polish
just isn't there yet to put them away.
Not a big deal in contents of things as we all know especially for the first pick
seniors but, as there always is one, I would of liked to see someone take the game away from the blues just to see us win it.

As the great jack dyer said of a certain
scum player ...."a good ordinary player"!
We seem to be "a good ordinary team"!
Not enough A and top tier B graders for my liking.
Crisp, Levi, etc.. are reasonable players but we seem
to have a bucket load of good not great players.

Yeah, the Sack and Sammy Dwyer both missed getable goals in the last but there were earlier opportunities that weren't taken which is fairly obvious given we had 3-4 more scoring shots and lost by 7 points, and that doesn't even factor in the wasted forward entries.

It looks like Swan is still limited by
his dodgy wrists.

Forget the result it was a great practice match with plenty of run.
Mason Cox can win the tap outs, after that he struggles even though he got one great hand pass out of a pack. If he gets named in our team it's not a good thing, it's desperation.

Not much to get excited about today.
No serious injuries at least.

Thought the attack on the ball against the Hawks was much better.

Cloke back in the forward line rendered us much more predictable again.
Desperately need another viable marking forward. Gault looked OK. Another would be great. I still like Reid as a forward option. Karnezis isn't likely to be the answer. Missed Billy today.

Disposal still lamentable. Toovey, Crisp, Greenwood, Ramsay all butchered it consistently. Can't afford too many of them in our team.

Kennedy goes hard, but I am not sure he can make it with his dimensions and with questionable disposal. Get's thrown off it too easily and isn't busy enough like Boomer Harvey.

Look forward to seeing what/who we put on the park against the Doggies.
