Looking at the 2 new rookies today plus our national
draft picks it appears that hard aggressive and tough players
are desired at Collingwood.
Given that Hawthorn smashed Sydney and other sides
in 2014, I believe it is no coincidence that we have targeted these types
of players. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

agree, seemingly a very clear strategy.
Also, have you noticed how many of them are left footers ? _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

I think we're trying to emulate Port Adelaide rather than Hawthorn by having players who work both ends of the field and who have the height and toughness to compete both in the air and at ground level. The downside of this is a repeat of last season, if our talls break down, we have no-one to replace them with. We saw that with Port Adelaide, when Trengrove and Westhoff were injured, Port started to lose games mid season. |

I think our tall stocks are sufficient, what with Grundy, Witts, White, Cloke, Keeffe, Brown, Reid, Gault, Moore and possibly Cox. |

The best bloody thing about this years draft picks for us. If I have to see a 15m chip kick missed one more time, I will loose my mind. |

Totally and unequivocally 100% with you there.
The amount of times I have threatened to throw the remote through the TV screen were countless, and I need assurance that it doesn't happen next year.
Hoping there are no injuries to the big fellas. _________________ Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero. |

Given my long standing view that Blair is
a dud. I think maybe Buckley and co believe
that hard heads are the way to go and this is why they keep
playing him. Building a list of hard as cats heads players
is the way forward.
Well I can't think of any other explanation in keeping Blair. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest.

I know they have within the coaching staff personel who work on skills but like other
previous reply,s i could have cried with frustration at some of ball delivery to another
player.
But when i saw one of the best deliver by foot of a Sherrin teaching at Daicos Academy
namely Barry Price i thought "Shezz give the employed coaching staff a chop out"
So lets hope that injuries reduce and skill application improves _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

The great thing is that this year's new recruits are all well built, tough AND skillful. There's a lot to like about that. |

We went down this 'tough, hard-nut' path after the Bears smoked us in 2003 for toughness ... but they were all sub 180cm and no skills (Luke Shackleton, David King, etc.). Hopefully we've rectified this with taller, smarter, more skillful players. _________________ Est. 2002 |
