So, Jarrad Hayne has his place on the 49ers' final roster for the 2015 season.

Great effort.

Meanwhile, in other news, despite the increasing idiocy, the Eagles released Tebow.

A more detailed, roster-by-roster review of the final roster cuts can be found here: http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/177813/atlanta-falcons-release-11-including-big-play-threat-antone-smith

And, it seems that the first round FTA games have been announced (coverage on 7-mate) - all times shown are Australian EST:

Friday, 11 September, 10.30 am - Steelers at Pats

Monday, 14 September, 3.00 am - Packers at Bears
Followed by Ravens at Broncos at 6.25 am and Giants at Cowboys at 10.30 am.

In all, then, four of the first round games are on FTA.

I probably won't be able to put up the FTA schedule every week but one place to find it is here:

https://ussportsdownunder.com/australian-nfl-tv-guide/

You can use that to filter out all except the FTA games or to see the pay-tv and NFL pass schedules, if you have access to non-FTA games.

Cut by the Raiders, not good enough for the Giants but it's a case of welcome home James

http://blog.packers.com/2015/09/07/news-now-james-jones-is-back-myles-white-released/

Could be an excellent piece of business. Obviously knows Rodgers well and only spent 1 season away from Lambeau. Provides experience to the wide receiving corp now that Nelson's out for the season.

So, a bit under 3 and a quarter hours until the season starts, at 10.30 am - with Steelers at Pats.

Unfortunately, I occasionally have to stop watching live sport to do a little work and this is one such occasion, so I will be time-shifting the season opener.

Happily for me, Green Bay's season opener is 3 am on Monday, our time, so I'll be able to watch live when 3 times 4 throws 6 TDs past the Bears.

I can't wait for the NYG game myself.
School holidays for us as of this arvo means no school drop off/pick ups for the next 3wks!

Looks like NE have the game sewn up against PITS 14-28 with about 3mins to go.

New England won 28:21. Brady threw 4 TDs - something of a surprise to me, because I thought he was suspended for 4 matches. I obviously missed something, there.

Oh, OK - his 4-game suspension was over-turned by a federal judge last week. How about that?

Cobb catches a TD. Pack 24:16 over Bears, 10 minutes to go. Cutler with the ball.

Colts trail Bills 24:8, Chiefs 27:9 over Texans, Miami 17, Washington 10, Seahawks 21:24 coming back at the Rams.

Cutler throws it away on 4th and goal from the 2 and Rodgers has the ball back, with little room to work. 7 m, 38 s to go. Still 24:16.

Jets lead Browns 31:10.

Pack 3 and out. Bears have it near their attacking 40.

Matthews picks off Cutler and runs the INT back to midfield. 3 and a half to go.

Jones just denied his 3rd TD catch by defensive interference at the 2. So Eddie Lacy runs it in. Pack lead 31:16. Still 2 minutes for Cutler to throw another INT.

OT required in Seahawks at Rams. 31 all.

Meanwhile, Davante Adams recovers the kick for Green Bay and that's that.
