Well IINET speeds I have been experiencing has been shocking.

During the day I have download speeds between 5kbps/30kpbs and that is Shocking for ADSL 2 and almost as slow as bloody Dial Up.

I don’t at the NBN in Somerville for another 2 Years:mad:

Anyone else have the Slow Speeds for there Internet?

Sorry to hear, Dave. It must be frustrating for a man of the Internet like yourself.

Perhaps some Nicksters here might know about service in your area. If you don't mind revealing a bit of information, tell people your current Internet arrangement with iinet and what you pay (and if it's part of a bundle, or whatever), and they might be able to help check if you can do better.

Here are three questions for you (only if you want to reveal the information on your deal with iinet).

1. What is your current deal with iinet? Is there a link to that deal on their website?

2. Are sure those speed numbers you mentioned are right? How did you test your speed?

3. Also, can you answer that question John Wren asked about malware? How do you keep your Mac clean of malware and running well? (I understand they're usually much cleaner than PCs, but it's still a worthwhile question to answer).

Dave, it's more likely an issue with the exchange, your hardware or the line connection within/outside your house. Ring them and get them to investigate.

I'm with iiNet at home and have no issues.

I had issues with very slow speed on Bigpond for ages, finally got them to investigate and it was a line issue, fixed and been fine most of the time ever since

Good stuff Joel and Dave. Hopefully, they sort it out for you then, Dave.

I'm with Optus and noticed a big speed reduction about 12 months ago.

Not that I am a conspiracy freak, but I noticed this just happened to coincide with the release of "speed packs" which allows you to pay an extra $50 per month for 10x speed. If you think of the Internet as a stream of water and high paying subscribers get most of the current, then the rest of us will get the trickle that is left over.

Hopefully iiNET aren't going to go down the same path.

I've got Telstra Cable.

Did a speedtest on a couple of places including here https://www.mybroadband.communications.gov.au/speedtest.aspx

Got 19 mbps download, 2mbps upload.

I'm happy enough with that.
