Wokko & Hitler again. Rolling Eyes

Abbott is using basic "wedge" politics. It's what he's been using since the slight bounce back in the polls. He is more focus group driven than the ALP were & that is saying a lot.

The usual suspects: the slanty eyed neighbours, Aborigines, Muslims etc. Mind you, some of these groups give him a ready head to kick.

The Aborognies in remote WA wanted to have a sea change in the North Shore of Sydney but couldn't stand their neighbours. Wink

He is such a dick.

I was just responding in a jocular fashion to someone else bringing up Hitler, although I do have a bee in my bonnet about historical figures being used as cartoon villains or heroes. Abbott as a cartoon villain is even more ridiculous.

Abbott . . . the prime minister we had to have . . . to appreciate what an acute vacuum of ethics and taste looks like in power.

We already got that with Rudd.

When the Liberal party itself is looking longingly at the most moderate of the leadership possibles in Malcolm Turnbull you know that even THEY realise they've been sold a dud.

don't deflect, boy.

Remember the episode of Hogan's Heroes where the Nazi general turns up at Stalag 13 with a plot to kill Hitler (sorry about using the Hitler hyperbole, over the top, comparing a skirmish to a massacre etc)

General: Thank you Colonel Hogan, for helping us get rid of Hitler

Hogan: (contemptuously) You'd better, you put him there!

Hmm yes Rudd the politician all conservatives despise - funny that, two bitterly hated labour PM's (by the conservatives) Gough Whitlam and Kevin Rudd - both with their faults assuredly but interestingly both responsible for kicking the conservative (born to rule party) into opposition after they had ruled for over a decade.

Just face it Wokko the conservatives get feral when denied what they regard as their god given right to rule.

That is why they turned to the only possible path to get back into power, the attack dog Abbott.

To appreciate what an acute vacuum of ethics and taste sounds very attractive.

Labor was the same with Rudd. None of them could stand him, or want him in power, but winning the election with Sunrise Kevin was more important than having a stable and functional (but not popular) leader in Beazley. Labor got the leader they deserved and so have the Libs with Abbott (albeit for different reasons, Turnbull was popular with the electorate).

Until our political parties are willing to again lead with statesmen, we're going to just get a merry-go-round of wankers.
