Sorry Jo.

59. Shit. Way too young.

I can't get access to my super til I'm 60, I may have to consider some lifestyle changes, I want to live long enough to be a burden to my children.

Cheers Stui, thanks, and yes way too young.

Every Friday night Ian would have a beer with who ever rocked up to his factory, so tonight his two sons, hubby and Greg, who worked for him, put on a BBQ and beer for all and sundry. About 60 guys turned up, and Cobber would have been so happy to see it. I took my daughters for a while and then took them to his house, one of the sisters was there, and a couple of her close girl friends, and we talked about the good times, the last times, and we were just there for each other.

Turns out his younger son and his girlfriend just found out they are pregnant, and yes, they shared the news with Ian before he passed away. I reckon it would have just made his heart sing. My heart just breaks for his widow, She's a strong woman, She will get through it, but still......our worlds will never be the same again, but I am so damn grateful for the time I had with him.

He was a diehard bulldog fan, so that's two of them I'm happy for (old guy up the road too!). He managed to get tickets to the game, and I'm so glad he got to enjoy that.

Thanks everyone, cheers.

My condolences to you and your family, Jo.

Always sad reading about someone's passing, especially at a young age.

Sincere condolescences Jo - very sad!

At least if it is any comfort at all he went quickly and sounds like he suffered little pain - in the end that is all we can wish for Sad

Cheers guys, thankfully as soon as they took out all the tubes, he slipped away within 2 minutes.

His son plays for Melton centrals, (junior plays netball for them too now) and Ian used to sponsor them. Today the reserve grades played and all wore armbands in his honour. Nice. Everybody loved him. And he was Cobber to them all. Just can't comprehend it yet. My hubby is just devastated. His younger brother. Just so sad.

Saying goodbye to Cobber today (Joannes(TP) wonderful brother in law) was very sad, and very uplifting, to see how many lives he had touched. It is the single largest funeral service i have ever been to, and I've been to heaps.
