Quote: | Daw forced his penis into her mouth and she bit down, prompting him to push her, she said.
The woman, who was a virgin at the time of the alleged rape, fell onto her back and recalled screaming "Get off me".
She said Daw patted her on the face and said: "it's going to be okay".
The woman said she pleaded with him to stop. "Majak then put his hand over my mouth so I couldn't scream." |
Makes S.Milne look like a paragon of virtue and yet it's still pretty quiet compared to that incident and the 'unnamed Collingwood player' incident from a couple of years ago *cough* Beams *cough*.
Roos are going to let him play too, which, while probably the 'right' thing to do (innocent until convicted etc) probably isn't going to go down too well. |

Should this be on other AFL new?
Perhaps we could lend him Beamers' Collingwood lawyer? _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Can I remind everyone that, as this case is ongoing, be very, very careful not to write anything defamatory that could get the board in trouble.
May also be worth keeping in mind that Daw was a minor at the time of the alleged incident.
I'm sure you all know my views on such things, so I'll spare you my opinion unless provoked. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

The coverage of this upcoming case has been quite unusual but also refreshing as well as I think a person is innocent until proven guilty and should be treated as such as until they are convicted for any type of offence.
It will be interesting to see how this transpires. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

That's the bit i struggle with. If it had been reported at the time he would have been tried as a child and if found guilty convicted as a child.
Trying him as an adult now for something he allegedly did as a child somehow jars with me. That's not to say that just because you did something as a kid that doesn't surface until you're an adult you should be able to get away with it.
BTW, my limited understanding is there's valid reasons why it took so long to get this far so no arguments about the process. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
