Bit like Medhurst, the Steak Knives have proven themselves as valuable as the big name traded out, never mind the Big Ticket item that came with them (Ben Reid in that case).

Like the Tarrant trade which I believe is one of the biggest trade wins in history (Reid's injuries do sour it a bit), I believe this could be another one. We got some great years out of Beams, then traded him at his highest value for another 10 year+ player and a very capable sweetener.

So to Beams, I say THANKS!!

Beams vs Crisp this year.

Beams was a fine player in his time at Collingwood but we move on.

Interestingly both Crisp and Beams had 21 possies on the weekend.

Crisp doing it for half a mill less a season though.

...and limit his direct opponent in the process. (and hopefully perform in finals, too)

Beams who? Is now as irrelevant as the team he plays for....history will say that eventually.

Exactly. Crisp got his while tagging.

Crisp was not the player we wanted, Beams was but I think now we've realised he is the player we needed.
Big bodied defensive mid who runs both ways, is hard at it and has a great left boot at only 21yrs old.
Then add DeGoey who will become another hard tackling tall mid who can also okay as a natural forward.
That's without Levi.
I think we can put this to bed now, we did ok !!

I just looked it up and realised you had the best birthday ever in 2010 if you have the same birthday date as Crisp.
