Can't this bloke just shut his mouth and get on with it?

Seeing as Collingwood was a year behind everyone else in transitioning from burst/power training towards more endurance training it wouldn't surprise me if what he said is true.

I'm sure if he was still at Collingwood he'd be thinking the same thing about this year compared to last.

I'm actually happy about the situation, we got 3 for the price of 1 and De Goey has that hope of being as good or better than Beams anyway. Crisp is still young, plenty of footy left and Levi is already a good solid player.

I don't think one trade has favoured US like that in a long time (Well, except Ross Lyin's Luke Ball for Nothing). Laughing

Well hopefully the extra fitness he obtains from the Lions training will help him run defensively even now and then.

I think Beam's comments are part of his psychological preparation for Round 1 2015 against his old firm. Giving voice to his inner demons (guilt, shame etc) was probably suggested to him by the Bears' psychologist as a coping mechanism.

Beams knows the reception that Collingwood supporters gave to D. Thomas. Beams fears the same.

Late edit: changed Suns to Bears (oops!)

So have we ever had clarification whether Beams dad currently has cancer or when he actually had it and was actively being treated for it?

I only ask because my one and only source told me the other day his dad went through his cancer treatment a couple of seasons back and it was not the current health concern Beams was making it out to be.

think he's referring to the fact that he is 3 weeks behind younger players and he needs to get re acclimatized with the sub-tropical heat , just the way I read it?

Agree Wokko… it was seemingly a bad situation but things have turned around and in the short term Levi looks to be able to cover Beams for his inside play and the potential for Crisp and De Goey is huge Smile

I am also enjoying that avatar Wokko Smile

Beams on Channel 7 News just revealed the "real" reason why he left the Pies. To quote him more or less accurately, it was because he "wished to go to a club where he could see future success, and he could certainly see that at Brisbane". So much for "wanting to be near his father". Terrible attack on us. I sincerely hope we smash them in Round 1.

I wondered the same, but then there would be no need to mention Collingwood if that was the case.
