My 1st thought when they said it was 1 Man. I did thought it was so Loose Cannon/Lone Wolf.

All Australia is behind them and hoping for success. |

Two hostages dead, a 34 year old man and a 38 year old woman dead. A cop injured (Shotgun to the face) and a few other injuries. Another hostage with a gunshot wound.
Thoughts are with the traumatized survivors, the victims, their families and the Police. May the terrorist scumbag get raped by 72 ugly virgin men for eternity. |

Hard to say, they thought he had a bomb and possibly accomplices with bombs so in hindsight a bullet to the head from a sniper was the best option, but if they'd done that and a bomb went off then the option suddenly doesn't look so good. |

A religious ideological nutter who was on bail for violence. He was an accessory to the murder of his ex-wife. He used to write to the families of dead Australian soldiers.
Lone wolf terrorism - active in self promotion who believed that his charges were a set up by ASIO & who was a refugee from Iran escaping persecution - I'm guessing he was a Sunni in Sunny Sydney.
Not your typical Lone Wolf.
Thoughts with the people involved including the hostages, their families & the Police / counter-terrrosim people.

Yes. It's a success but not without consequences.
1 of the dead is the gunman so I don't count him in the count personally.
What's also clear is that this douche was a real piece of work going back a long way and is unlikely to be a sympathetic figure for anyone.
