I must admit, Carlron did some pretty cool things with theirs on Friday night. Firstly, they had a virtual white picket fence pop up and virtually erect around the ground, making the oval look like it was surrounded by an old school fence. Secondly, they used the second tier to rename each end and wing (e.g. we'd have the Sherrin Stand, Rush Stand, etc.). Looked really good. Finally, the virtual Virgin plane that flew around the fencing, albeit a marketing exercise, was actually fun to watch (with loud plane noises). The potential is endless...I hope we come up with some great stuff (scrolling through stats, or rankings, etc. like on TV would be a start). _________________ Est. 2002 |

Detracts from the game.
I have to make myself concentrate on the game
and not keep my eyes wandering to the advertising.

Love it!! What a great call.
The plane did look pretty impressive and while I haven't seen the picket fence I love the idea. Only been to the one game this year and really didn't find I even noticed them so can't complain. _________________ Side By Side Forever |

the picket fence and carlton stand names are only shown before the game as part of the build up. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

I love advertising. It keeps me going in life. Without it our lives in Corio would be meaningless. I always have Nerofen Plus with my Vita brits and encourage Bertha's daughters to be good consumer mums and buy everything the advertisers tell us to. I purchased Nespresso coffee capsules and use them instead of Aldi shampoo to look like George Clooney. We use OMO to make our clothes whiter than white. It cleans all the Shell Refinery stains out of my underwear. I love our fresh food people food too. So kind to us with their bulk locally baked donuts. Always fresh and marked down because Kurtis Stone told us that if we go down down down on each other in the aisle so will our grocery prices. Bertha likes to drive things down with my neighbour. _________________ I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for. |

I'm sure this kind of technology can be used for good, but I can't help but feel we'll be watching 44 holograms in decades to come. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

LOL! Gold!
I don't like it when it flashes colours, too distracting. Especially when play is still on. I didn't notice the plane or the fence! Or the numbers! I'll have to check that out. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

I must admit I detest the mindless razzmatazz ie kiss cam etc and I still have no idea why someone on a microphone has to scream at us at every break time.
But I must admit I thought the Scum pre match use of the LCD Boards was rather good. You could clearly see they wanted to evoke a memory of Princes Park. They dimmed the lights - they ran a picket fence around the entire ground (like Princes Park used to have), then they named their stands in roughly their Princes Park locations - Heatley Stand, Gardiner Stand, Legends Stand.
I thought it was a reasonably well done link to their past home.
And best of all it was done without any brain numbing noise. |

same but would be good if it's replicated on the other side of the ground. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

I liked it when Captian Carlton did his celabratory thing on screen when we kicked a goal.
Clearly the Blues weren't kicking enough. |
