Saw him in photo on CollingwoodFC and the thought occurerd to me that he in
particular should benifit from a solid uninterupted pre-season.
With that off field distraction 12 months ago and slight injury problems he had some
difficulty adding to an excellent 2013.
To Marley as in fact all the boys good luck

barry, it's a great call. He wasn't great last year but lets be honest by the time his court case was completed he must have been exhausted.... and then he had to battle through a season of football.

Fingers crossed because he was a revelation the year before. Anyone seem him at training to know how he's tracking?

Did all the physical training preseason but you'd imagine the whole court process would have been extremely draining emotionally. That aside, thought his 2014 was reasonable given his experience, just didn't progress as much as we'd all hoped/anticipated.

He needs to add a midfield string to his bow. With Toovey, Sinclair, Goldsack, Seedman ext. fit (even Maynard and Manteit coming through) he is going to be under the pump to hold a spot.

Its been spoken of some where (cant recall where) that he was being considered as
mid fielder and all those guys just discussed on above reply and i,ll throw Jon Marsh
in are good choices in defense
I watched Marsh at Vic Park on several occasions and he was solid in defense
Added to that there are only 6 back spots so Langon ,Frost and a fit Brown could
own 3 of them.
So Marley has to go up against a few like Adams ,Greenwood ,Sidebottom
Gee even Swannie---it should be interesting with selection given few injuries
and form

I thought Marley started his season off well but he obviously tailed off as the season went on, But he has excuses, I'm predicting him to have a breakout season in 2015.

My prediction is Marley will fill the tagging role left by the Caff assuming the Caff doesn't get back as quickly as hoped, Marley has all the tools to be a good run with player, he's quick, he's stong in the contest and he's a good alround defender, I think he's our best option.

Height may be an issue as a tagger. Some teams would take him to the goal square an isolate him in the air. Be fine against the likes of Mitchell, Jack, Ablett etc though.

Wouldn't be many mids able to beat him as a defender IMO.

Woild,nt be many mids able to beat him as a defender --Defender a valid point
as with that defence in his bag of tricks would IMO be an aid to another role.
In an interview Sam Mitchell spoke of Clarkson,s motivation to have versatility
and from a sucsessfull team that could also be valid.
A back who can switch fwd or mid then if needed drop back to assist ,that i like

Haven't they identified Greenwood as tagger in Caff's absence?

I'd like to Williams and/or Sinclair given some midfield run-with roles. Assuming they can build the tank suuficiently to go wit the mids.

I imagine most of us on Nicks are quietly confident that guys like Marley and his same
age team mates and the 2014 inclusion draftee,s and seasoned recruits can cover the
roles needed from end to end of the ground.
I for one am and as i,ve said injuries kept down this is going to be a fruitfull season
