I was a training track star, never missed a target and absolutely hauled ass in the contested drills, it never amounted to much come game day though
Not saying you're wrong or anything, but I thought we all agreed to keep a lid on the new kids? Remember they all read these sites, some will say they don't but believe me they do, because I know I would. _________________ Defender...........

No chance of keeping a lid on the kids Defender, not around our club. We have been raving about our young stars for as long as I can remember and we always will.
Darcy at least has a father who has been through the highs and lows of league footy and will be there to ground him if things get out of shape. |

Liked the look of DeGoey at training today. Not sure Moore will have it all to himself as the young gun of our team. _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

Great to hear such positive reports about Darcy Moore. I vividly remember the thrill of watching his father Peter Moore dominate games for the Pies when he burst onto the VFL in 1977 and great excitment generated in the crowd whenever the ball was kicked long and high towards him and once he got it he was a pretty reliable kick for goal. Unfortunately the weight of such stardom seemed to weigh Peter down and I think that eventually contributed to his move to Melbourne in 1983, so its very refreshing to see the unbridled love of the club that young Darcy has. That he has a close mate also at the club in Jordan De Goey who also looks a good player will hopefully help settle him int the club and with Nathan Buckley as a coach, who appears more approachable to the players than Tom Hafey was should also help keep young Darcy content. The big questions over Darcy are will his body withstand the pressures of AFL to be resilient and consistent and what position will he play for the first year of football?
I am hopeful that with all the sports science available the club will have his body right to go very early in his career and that we start him as a high half forward / wing to make the most of his athleticism. I suspect that Buck's is planning to ease him into a defensive position initially given what we have seen in the limited practice times at training. That's OK as Peter Moore started in the Back Pocket for his first game also.
What Darcy will not be is our No. 1 ruckman since his career coincides with Witts and Grundy who seem far more robust for rucking duties for the next 10 years. Hence there is some hope that Moore will develop into a power forward who will be able to replace Cloke when Travis retires. Now thats what I'm excited about! _________________ Collingwood Domination. Envy of the Nation! |
