Post subject: Swanny was putrid this yearReply with quote

This year, last season, season 2013, you know what I mean.

Anyway, he's the one saying he was putrid.

Quote:
COLLINGWOOD midfielder Dane Swan says he has a few people to prove wrong next season after what he described as his own “horrendous” year marred by injury.

Swan admitted he paid the price for not listening to his body or being truthful enough with Magpies coaches and medical staff about his physical condition last season.

Swan managed just 17 games this year, with a foot injury ending his season in Round 22.

But the Brownlow medallist refused to blame injuries solely for his performances and remained confident he could still play football at a “pretty elite level”.

“It was horrendous. I had one good game on Anzac Day and that was about it,’’ Swan said of his frustrating 2014 season yesterday.

“It was putrid. I certainly don’t expect to be like that this year and my main goal it just to be injury-free.

“I’d like to come in after Christmas as injury-free as I’ve been for 18 months. As long as I can do that, I think I could be back to where I was.

I do like his sense of humor. He described how being the oldest and an obvious bad influence on others* means he's now Scott Nomates.

Quote:
“I have lunch on my own now, no one really talks to me. I think I’m the oldest by three years,’’ Swan said before the Collingwood players visited patients at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

“The footy club said stop talking to all the young kids because everyone I hang around with just ends up getting the boot.

“They’ve quarantined me and I just sit in my own little room most of the day and come out when we have to do weights and training and as soon as they see me talking to people they come and grab me.’’

Averaged 20 disposals in 3 Grand Finals and his mate Beams barely turned up for them.. less of a loss than some might suspect

Can't disagree with him, and I love his honesty.

Sounds like his body is much better now so let's hope it stays that way.

Must be joking.......his career achievements match up against any modern day great. Not only a Collingwood champion but a champion of the modern era. Every man and his dog knew he was playing crook last year. A fit and fired up Swanny and Pendles go a long way to making us final aspirants again. By the way, if we haven't picked up the Great Dane was piss-taking in his comments, we haven't listened to one word he has uttered since he put on a black and white jumper.

Agree with the 'putrid' reflection…

Note that Swan is born in the chinese year of the Rat and last season (2014) is the year of the Horse - a challenging year for those born in the year of the rat such as Swan - I think Ball is also a Rat!

Interestingly Buckley is also a 'Rat' and is in the midst of his opposite or challenging year!

Next year is the year of the Sheep - the opposite year for the Ox (Heath Shaw) so Swan and Bux might enjoy a better year in 2015 and the Pies might get some good luck on our injury front Smile

I'm pretty sure this was a criticism of Beams, not Swanny.
