In most cases the whole thing about us having our opinions on new recruits is that we get to make "calls" on players and get a kick out of it when "our" player comes true to our prediction. We get a chance to connect with a player and take him on board.
Its a thing we do that calls on our intellectual knowledge of the game, the "gut" feelings, the instinctual thought process that garners all our memories and experiences of our past. The flashes of brilliance of a past player can be seen in a present day player and through this forum we get the chance to validate that, and with it comes the ridicule when our prediction gets "called out ".
At the end of the day its just a chance to have some fun and give us hope.

good one. nicely put. besides, threads like these from dtm are nothing new much like his butchering of the english language. then, than, sigh.

it's dave's opinion. nothing more, nothing less. only the fullness of time will judge whether he is right or not.

Thanx JW. I like DTM's passion and its bloody great that he kick starts a lot of discussions on players etc. His links and "heads up" on a lot of stuff are all valuable.
There's no one like him and I hope he doesn't care that I (we) get a chuckle from his bloopers on the language side of things. Definitely gets the message across, anyhow.

yep, nothing wrong with forming an early opinion. we'll know more once we see them play.
