Great to see his skills coming along nicely but have a admit relying on Pebs to teach him ruck work seems a bit of a worry. |

I think both rendell and Pebbles share the ruck coaching. It seems Pebbles has been assigned the personal trainer/mentor for Cox. |

Yesterday I attended the Level 1 AFL Talent Identifacfion course at Metricon Stadium. The first presenter was AFL Talent Manager Kevin Sheehan and among other things, he talked about Mason Cox at the US talent screening. He was almost salivating when discussing Cox. He said that as soon as Dekka saw his limited skills, he was on the phone to organise how Collingwood would try to secure Cox.
Sheean thinks that we have a real beauty in Cox. |

Great to see the club persisting with this. There's no point trying something if you're not going to put the experience gained to use and further refine it. Good luck to the young bloke, and fingers crossed for the club. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

A lot of ruck work is about body positioning and I think Pebbles was as good as anyong at that aspect. Was also a pretty handy ruckman himself, just a better forward so got limited opportunities to showcase his talents. A lack of a tank didn't help his cause either. Add Rendell passing on his experience and I think it will be okay. |

I don't understand how you 'model' a player on a totally different one. Also, not like they'd say "Yeah, we're modelling him on Cam Wood"
And +1 on jackcass, Rocca was a good ruck, just didn't really have the tank for anything more than pinch hitting. Never understood why we didn't keep Sav and try and turn Ant into more of a Ruckman (lower muscle mass a bit and increase cardio). |

I think modelling is a strong word. Pebbles said they would be watching his tapes which makes sense. Cox and Sandy are the two biggest blokes going around so you'd take a close look at what aspects of the game he does well. If he turns out as good as Sandy we'd all be happy but who knows he could be better! _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

Well he's quicker, more agile and has a better leap than Sandilands, so we can hope. _________________ kill for collingwood! |
