ABC may pull plug on VFL coverage

Whilst trying to locate VFL fixture for 2015 discovered the ABC may pull out of VFL
television coverage.
And stepping into the breach Channel 7 & if it happens one of Sevens other digital
channels would do games --also WAFL may join in for WA state league games on 7
SAFL went that way last year and veiwer numbers went from 16,000 in 2013 to 32,000
2014
Eddie McGuire,s company McGuire media handles it for Channel 7 and AFL
and are keen to produce VFL -WAFL as well
It would appear long standing Phil Carey would have no spot on forthcoming venture

Abbott is cutting 5% of the ABC's budget so something has to give. Shame, enjoy the ABC coverage, wish they were expanding it.

Shame that.

I enjoyed match of the week games from
the sanfl, wafl and the vfl from 3am weekdays
here in brissy during footy season. Something I would get up
for before trodding of to work.

Hope we don't get any John Bourke incidents.
They should get Sandy Roberts back to commentate.
Pity that Slug Jordan is no longer with us.
Would have been great to go back to the Lakeside Oval days with Channel 7 (7mate) doing the coverage again.

With bloody Turnbulls cuts to the ABC today, big cuts, the man who has sold his soul to old yank fart Murdoch, it has to happen, sadly, something will have to be cut back bigtime.
