Watching the news/reading Facebook, seems they have simular plans for us

It's no coincidence that the propaganda that they're pumping out to their followers coincides with loss of territory in Syria and Iraq as a way to divert people away from their failings on the ground.

For example, the Paris attacks in November last year happened soon after ISIS lost the town of Sinjar (in north-west Iraq) to the Kurds, and just a few days ago ISIS lost more ground on the Turkish-Syrian border and now all of a sudden they're threatening several countries, including Australia as a way to distract people from their setbacks and to instil enough fear and doubt into people's minds.

The threat of a terror attack in any western country is real as we've seen in other countries such as France, so no one disputes that, but I don't think the threat increased anymore than it already posed as ISIS have made threats toward many countries, including Australia in the last year or two when the group has risen to notoriety.

I think the media was somewhat irresponsible for reporting on it the way it did, but at the same time I can understand that people are being warned to be vigilant and cautious and their would have been blame cast on our politicians and police force if we were not informed of a genuine threat and something major happened.

Greg Barton sums it up well in the article below.

They just should bloody Blow up the Middle East

Not only would this solution not be practical and it would fuel further problems, but it would also be a clear violation of international law if we "blow up the Middle East" as you describe it.

ISIS is predominantly a problem within Syria and Iraq where they visibly control territory, and they have a small presence in other countries such as Libya, Afghanistan and Yemen where they predominantly act as insurgents more than anything else rather than actively seeking to control territory.

I want to see them defeated and to see the region have some much-needed stability that it desperately needs but this needs to be done through other means and not just simply blowing up a continent which is such a broad and unrealistic statement to make and would only fuel further problems in subsequent years.

Some ways to potentially address the problem include empowering and assisting other forces such as the Kurds to defeat them on the ground. Somehow negotiate a way to get Saudi Arabia and Iran to restart diplomatic relations with each other which is pivotal in beginning to address the Sunni-Shia schism.

Also, to find ways to cut off their funding from private donors from Gulf states, and to empower think tank groups like Quilliam in Great Britain who are actively working on counter-extermism measures against the ideology of Islamism (Salafism).

So we are bit behind then as ISIS won't play by any Rules at all. So why should we do the Same Thing to Them?

Aren't they always Fighting against Each Other since FOREVER?

Not quite forever, since Mohammed's sons had different ideas about the religion their dad created.

Yes this is good chance this is a Call for Arms for there Faliures in the Middle East Recently.

But only take a few of the Loonies to take it Seriously and try and act on this Call of Violence by ISIS. To Cause Major Problems. Also means Security Everywhere will be even more Tough.

Hate to try and get into the AFL Finals Now

They Show no Respect to us. So why should we?

1 Good think about Trump. He won't be a Pussy about them

Good point. Given that some people in Australia don't respect those from the Middle East, we should call for Australia to be nuked immediately.

I never said you post crap. I said that what you posted, i.e. that a whole region of the world with millions of innocent people should be bombed, was utter crap.

And yes, that would be equally dumb if you said that.

A good article relating to the Kurds that's worth a read.
