Why are Paul Seedsman and Jack Frost still wearing numbers in the 40s?

Giving White #9 will not improve his longevity at the Pies. It is at least 56 years since #9 was carried by a Collingwood Premiership player. These are the players that wore 9 in the last 38 years.

Martin Clarke, John Anthony, Julian Rowe, Glen Freeborn, Matthew Francis, John Ballantyne, Brad Hardie, Andrew Tarpey, Brian Taylor, Ron Andrews, Craig Stewart, Phil Carman.

Marty played his best footy while wearing #18, Anthony never lived up to his early promise, Rowe was a VFL player, Freeborn, Hardie and Andrews played their best footy before coming to the Pies. Francis and Ballantyne were good honest players who were never going to play in a premiership side. Brian Taylor was (and is) a talented loudmouth who pretty much talked himself out of the 1990 premiership team. Stewart and Carman were good footballers (Carman was a great footballer) who did not stay long enough at the club. If you remove Stewart and Carman from the list White is an appropriate #9.

Numbers are interesting and after getting my mind on track see another Shaw wore 22
Rhyse
Harold Rumney was interesting as 2yrs at Carlton saw hin play 15 games so in 1926 the
unloaded him and he headed to Collingwood
Played in 1927,28,29 &30 plus 35 flags

Why Frost wasn't instructed to wear a single digit number is beyond me.

And why White bothered changing numbers is ridiculous.
He should be more concerned about getting his hands on the football, rather than [snip] around with a lower jumper number.
Not like it's going to upset any supporters who went out and got #18 on their jumper in 2014; don't think there were any....
9 should have gone to Varcoe IMO.

I'd be livid if i was a supporter who went out and got #19 in 2014, only to now find Elliott moving to 5. Oh well, more support for Levi i guess...

What would be our strongest group?

Singles?
10-19
20-29
30-29
40's

I am hoping by the end of the year it is 20-29, with a strong showing from the 30's but right now it is the 10-19 group!

the 30-29 group looks special. if we're reliant on the over 40s we'll have been in a whole lot of hurt.

Maybe they wanted them.

I remember Marley Williams saying that he wanted to wear no. 46 for the rest of his career but felt honoured being offered no. 26 and opted to go for it

Wow, how long has it been since the first 30 numbers were all occupied? It's even possible 1-20 could all be on the park at once sometime. But what does DeGoey do in 2016? I suspect he'll get #14

That would mean that, for one reason or another, Frost, Seedsman, Swan, Toovey, Cloke, Sinclair, Williams, Keeffe & Sidebottom would all not be on the park.
Predicting another horror run with injuries?

I rather fancy #9 for De Goey in 2016.
