At the end of the day this is a catering group. It is up to the club to determine the opening hours, presentation of the venue, pricing structure and quality / type of food and beverages available.
Before I cast an opinion I will see how it turns out. At this point in time everything is conjecture. _________________ Now Retired - Every Day Is A Saturday |

Mark this down on your calendar thomsoc as the first time we have fully agreed upon something. You have certainly described what I would like to see out of our social club. Let's just hope the club gets it right.
Personally I do not want to see the social club being a big financial burden on the club the same as I do not want to see it making massive profits. A balanced book where the members pay their way and get value for their money is a worthy ambition in my opinion. We already support the club by paying social club membership which many have done for years with few facilities being made available by the club.
This reinvention of the social has taken a lot longer than it needed to. Let's hope it was worth the wait. |

of course it needs to be rented out, just not on match days
there can be a smaller area to cater for members on non collingwood tv games
its just important that there is nothing sterile about it
very price competitive, as there are no local residents
a strong football, sporting feel |

Um is there something wrong with frankston and Moe?
They seem like a couple of self made Aussies. Big company does royal weddings overseas. Looks pretty flash, and probably not what most traditional Collingwood fans want, but very corporate and high flying stuff, so guess its the way Collingwood want to head. I've never watched any of the housewives show, but by all google accounts she's alright.
What others have described as the ideal, I've taken my bulldog barracking father in law to the footscray ground for breaky and lunch. The food is very reasonably priced and really tasty. Great view of training. I'm sure I will take him again. I've also had lunch there with friends.
I've walked into collingwoods little food bar, looks un appealing and too expensive for what it is. And too sterile for lunch IMO. But reality is that that's the direction the Pies have taken since leaving vic park. They will probably say they had to do it to survive. And no doubt it's been successful. But like a lot about Collingwood now, it's very detached from the fans. And like memberships costs, it's spiralling away from affordable for the average family.
I'm guessing the new deal will go ok, her and her hubbies company do stuff all over the world, but not sure how many Collingwood fans will be attending $200 a head cocktail parties! Bottom line it makes Collingwood money. Seems that's all that matters.
The new barrackers end seems miles away from it. It's like they want the blue collar workers yelling in the stands, the stereotypical Magpie fan, and across the road, the unwashed don't get past the shop! So is it too make money for the team for the fans in the stands, or are the fans in the stands the bunnies? _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

No that is what I think those of us who yearn for the old Collingwood traditions to be grown rather than just thrown on a waste heap that is a bygone time need to get our heads around.
Like it or not we are the closest thing the AFL has to a Privately Owned Club, although no money is made directly from the Club itself there is more than one way to skin a cat. |

something that bertha is not. perhaps bertha could get in on it. she likes food and the big group name is kinda apt and suits her. |
You will see Bertha in the new upcoming series
"The Real Housewives of Corio".
In the first episode she sleeps with Billy Brownless while hiss pulls bongs with Gary Ablett senior in the background. _________________ Buon Giorno |
