Interesting read. She would make a good PM but hopefully not the way Gillard got in, thrust into the job after the incumbent proved to be a gold plated douche nozzle and then shackled by the internal machine and rarely ever able to let the self come through.
If Abbott gets far enough on the nose to warrant an internal challenge, the smart thing to do for Julie would be to get right out of the road. |

I'm guessing these puff pieces were written before the whole "writing defensive letters to the US about Australia's record on climate change" thing.

" thrust into the job after the incumbent proved to be a gold plated douche nozzle".
And they say history never repeats!

Yes, good call. By now you'd say it's a rival PR team game. Pathetic to think something so important can be reduced to that. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

^Haha. "Tanya Plibersek is no Kevin Rudd" is reminisce of the English cricket commentator who excitedly declared that some new player was "the new Andy Caddick"!
Do Stui and Tannin love Plibersek? That is the only true test of her claim! _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

Really? Seriously, who in their right mind would ever vote for the Asbestos Death Princess?
Tania who?
Well, OK, seems competent enough. Did well in several difficult portfolios when in government. Doesn't strike me as leadership material any more than Shorten does, but they could do worse, and Labor's lack-lustre leaders generally do a pretty decent job (Gillard, Beazley, Crean, Swan - all were decent, reliable types without an ounce of voter-attracting charisma between them. Compare with their pretty-boy star-type leaders: Latham and Rudd - both disasters with capital F.
Shorten will have to do. Let's face it, he only has to get out of bed to look good next to Abbott. But I still wish they'd put Tony Burke in instead. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

I think your mistaking cause and effect.
These days Newspapers don'task the man in the street who is popular and who is not, they tell him/her.

Bishop is the only minister that hasn't made a complete ass of herself in the last 14 month's so off course she is going to be talked up as the only likely successor to this clown leading the country exactly no-where.
The rest of his front bench has no-one with any statesmanship like qualities or a genuine vision of where Australia is heading.
So Bishop is getting all the love.
(Bishop opposed Australia's bid for a Seat the UN security council back in 2007 saying we couldn't afford the $24 million cost) but that's not worth a mention, this is fluff/puff piece and stuff like that doesn't fit the narrative).
The only other news from the Government are reiterations of tired 3 word slogans, Abbott"s non stop gaffs broken promises and inane speech's, rants and embarrassments!
Do world leaders care if he can't get his $7 G.P co-payment past the senate? It isn't an excuse to say we can't afford to send any more help to West Africa but can afford to buy million dollar bombs from the Yanks to drop on ppl 1/2 a world away!
US China Carbon Agreement signed etc etc etc...
It' just plain depressing.
(Still waiting for that promised shirt-front btw Tony
To quote our village idiot..."You bet you are -err you bet I am."
I'm told Putin got tired of waiting and went home for nap while Abbott got Cameron and Harper in to lend a helping hand)...
Our P.M just another loud mouth brainless coward and Julie Bishop sitting high and mighty in chair she opposed Australia getting in the first place.
If Bishop does knife Abbott before the next election (some-one will have to if the Libs want to win it) the irony would be glorious. |
