Assuming none of the kids we recruit are ready in round 1, ans assuming that Scharenberg and Macaffer are the only two players not available for selection, and having regard to my hopes for the improvement in some of our kids, here is my go at round 1 2015.
B: Williams, Brown, Toovey
HB Langdon, Frost, Sinclair
C: Sidebottom, Greenwood, Varcoe
HF: Goldsack, Reid, Broomhead
F: Elliot, Cloke, Swan
R: Witts, Pendles, Adams
Bench: Grundy, Freeman, Kennedy, Seedsman
Pushing for selection: Keefe, White, Blair, Young, Fasolo, Thomas, Dwyer, Karnezis
Too young (or not good enough) to consider: Ramsey, Marsh, Oxley, Armstrong, Crisp, Moore, Pick 5, Pick 30, Pick 48 _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

Yeah, we could argue the usefulness of Sinclair in the side and some of the positions on the field, but if that's the team we play against Brisbane in the first round, they should give a good account of themselves. |

Mine changes weekly but with the departure of Maxwell I think we need experience down back and that comes from Reid and Brown; so first Reid to CHB.
Then I'd move Cloke to CHF. I think he was carrying a knee last year and couldn't run. If he's fit get him on the bike again, get into space, crash some packs and starting hurting the opposition - none of the wrestling crap.
I'd start Witts at full forward. He's a good kick, a big target and was starting to take some marks toward the end of last year.
I've got Blair in too. Whilst he is no KPP he does provide forward pressure.
Sinclair on the bench provides added run from the defence.
Karnezis will hit the scoreboard and go for short stints in the middle, whilst White can play the 3rd tall: the lead up role that he was suppose to play last year.
B: Williams, Brown, Toovey
HB Langdon, Reid, Frost
C: Sidebottom, Greenwood, Varcoe
HF: Goldsack, Cloke, Broomhead
F: Elliot, Witts, Swan
R: Grundy, Pendles, Adams
Bench: Blair, Sinclair (sub), Karnezis, White
Depth: Freeman, Keefe, Kennedy, Young, Fasolo, Seedsman, Thomas, Dwyer, Crisp |

I've narrowed mine down to a squad of 32-34 players... pressure is on them though as others will press a case over the preseason. |

^^ tend to agree Rudey.
Think that Varcoe and Greenwood almost certain.
Be lots of media about Beams v Pies grudge match but the inclusion of both Karnezis and Crisp also adds a bit of spice.
Think you could probably cluster players like Keeffe, Frost, Brown, and Langdon and say 3 of the 4 will play. Final selection dictated by Brions makeup.
Same for Crisp, Seedsman, Goldsack, and Karnezis. Possibly even Young. 3 of the 4/5 to play.
I prefer the Grundy - Witts combo but White will come under consideration. |

Whoops! Got to find a spot for Adams. I reckon Goldy might have to make way, with Seedsman the sub. |

That might be another of those clusters. Broomhead, Adams, Fasolo, Blair, and Freeman. 3 of the 5 to play.
Looks like I'm still stuck on my squad of 32-34 players.... |

A fair bit of talent there. Though I think any team that does not include Blair is unrealistic. _________________ Well done boys! |

The sign that we have improved will be if Young, Blair, Toovey and Goldsack all have to fight tooth and nail to get a game. |

That's why I prefer Frost over Toovey and Langdon or Varcoe over Sinclair. |
