Last weekend spoke to a guy that knows Browny very well and he has told him that he is very fit and ready to go for the 2015 season. Nathan also said his shoulder can't pop out anymore as it has been screwed in. I'm very excited about getting Browny back as I can remember how he controlled Reiwolt in the 2010 grand final. His bigger body will help guys like Frost and Keefe down back. Go Pies

Let's hope so, we desperately need either Brown or Reid, maybe even both, holding down a defensive spot for most of next season. We saw last year that without Maxwell the defense simply didn't function without an experienced player holding it together.

Reid and Brown are our two most important potential gains coming into 2015. Adding two A-grade players makes a major difference and even more so when injected into your spine.

A fit Brown, Reid, Swan and more confident Tooves are 4 big reasons why we can improve next year. It won't be all about the youth

I'm not so sure about Toovey, as Langdon covered his role pretty well last year I reckon. However, Swanny, Reid and Brown will definitely be the big 'new recruits' for us in season 2015. Throw in Freeman, Karnezis, Fasolo and Marsh, it's clear we're much better placed than we were this year - and that's before we include Crisp, Greenwood, Varcoe, Moore, a player like Laverde and possibly even Scharenberg later in the season. We've got every reason to be excited.

Brown seems to be somewhat of the forgotten backman. Until this topic there has been very little posed about him in recent times on Nicks. His injury last year did have a significant impact and I think it was more about when he was going to get injured and not if.

Hopefully 2015 will see a more robust Brown out there for the full season.

Isn't it strange that we are now mentioning what the real reason for our demise was. INJURIES to our star players.Plenty of them. We'll get them back and we'll be top 4 .

Impossible to know from the outside, but Jono Marsh's hammy was a brutal one in the last VFL game at Vic Park. Hope he is coming good as well.

I just want to say something out loud because I need it to sink in my head...

Ben Reid and Nathan Brown are both still only 25 years old

But unfortunately have missed many games due to injury in recent years. The injuries to these two alone are game changers.

Reid, Brown, Cloke and to a lesser extend Grundy, Frost, Witts and Keeffe are the reason we are not in a full rebuild and can bounce back quicker than many expect. The key positions take the longest time to fill and we are pretty much set if we get a decent run with injuries.

Happy to have Brown fit and firing, but I think people are forgetting that before getting injured, he was languishing in the 2s and Frost had taken his spot.

No, he was dropped after some disappointing performances.
