What??

Defences win premierships.

Our back line leaks goals too easily. Fix that first then worry about scoring.

I wouldn't be surprised if White has a much improved year next year. We have all seen what he is capable of and I think after his first year with us, he will be better.

Yes, by scoring more than them Very Happy.

And defense may win premierships, but defenders don't.

Oh, and my original post wasn't serious Wink.

I think he should play down back where we know he is a gun forward. Also agree with the point that there will be less likelihood of injury down back that as a fast turning, wheeling etc forward, and it must be a priority to keep him in the side as much as we can!
As for who will be a key forward with Cloke, I think Karnezis could play a major role in that. But I think that we might have highly variable and flexible forward line with many of our midfielders going in there (the likes of Broomhead, Sinclair, Freeman and Varcoe) and of course our other gun forward in Elliott. I think that Karnezis probably won't be able to play every game, so our back up tall forward could be Gault ( we need to try to develop him), or a resting Jarrod Witts to present a second target. But I also think that we should give Jesse White one last chance to prove himself as a viable second target.
Reid can swap of course depending on circumstances, but I think this should not be norm. I would prefer us to play with a much more stabilized and definite structure, which we were not able to establish this year of course because of our horrific injury rate.

Just get the boy fit & ready, that is my only concern. Personnel and opponent will probably dictate where he plays

True, "defense" does win premierships...

However, in the modern game, that defense extends to the entire 22, not just the back 6.

It's all too easy to say that our back 6 leaked goals without acknowledging that our midfield got smashed and our forwards couldn't lock the ball in or contain the rebound.

I disagree on the injury issue. Certainly if his injuries were structual (knees, hips, feet) then the twisting and turning could be an issue, but his injuries have been muscular so don't see that will be impacted any more playing forward than back.

But it's a moot point clearing the D50 if it just rebounds because you don't have F50 marking options.

Yes, he was AA at CHB but was recruited as a forward and may well have been an AA CHF if persisted with. There are guys who similarly are recruited as forwards who are best suited as backmen (eg Presti) but Reid has shown he can also produce as a forward. Quality key forwards are much harder to find.

The Reason he has to play Forward because we picked up Duds in White and Lynch since we Traded Dawes as we have no one else.

Gault and Moore will play sometime up Forward at AFL Level
