I don't think Bomber will be coming to Collingwood. He'll end up at the Suns.
Eade is being used(knowingly) as cover while the transaction is nailed down.
Short explanation is this:
If Bomber goes to the Suns then Ablett leaves the Suns (the two are oil and water - too much bad feeling from the Geelong days)
If Ablett leaves the Suns where does he go? Well, his management would say to a Melbourne-based club. This would give Ablett access to expert commentary jobs on non-playing days with Fox, Seven and radio stations. Important to preparing Ablett for a career after his playing days and maintaining his market value.
If Ablett moves to a Melbourne-based club, which one? Well, Collingwood have need to bolster its mid-field with experience, and it has the money to pay.
Watch this space. This is a chess game in play.

I'd certainly have taken Bomber over Carey.
I guess whatever happens with Eade he will make the right decision for him and his family, mainly for him as far as his career goes. If he picks the Gold Coast job, good for him and good luck.
I don't think he was ever a bad coach, I think at the Dogs he got the most out of the limited resources he had and talent he had. He has a lot of talent there and would have a good support staff so finals shouldn't be too far off for any coach there at the Suns.
As far as who replaces him and why I guess we'll have to see on that, many candidates and I am sure the club will pick the right person they think will do the job well. _________________ Ðavâgé

Ablett has just signed a contract extension hasn't he? With the trade period done and dusted that severely limits his avenues to change clubs now though I would have thought. |

I wonder if Eade was even there second choice after Thompson or they're just getting desperate with the slim pickings on offer as suitable alternatives to McKenna that they can sell to there members and sponsors.

What do contracts & rules have to do with the ability of a player to change clubs? Must have the wrong manager. |

I don't think Ablett's got a problem with Bomber. That was ancient history. Money is what matters now. However, I doubt GC will go for Bomber now that he virtually rejected them in his rush to embrace the senior job with Essendon. |

The more I think about it the less I'm sure Bucks needs a 'mentor', like Rocket. After all, he can bounce ideas around with his assistants in Scotty Burns, Harvey and Hart. What the club needs now is a good football administrator to manage the football department. I know he's young and has only just retired as a player, but what about the club offering such a post to Maxy? He has said he wants to become Collingwood's CEO one day. This would be a great apprenticeship for such a role. We could then bring in another assistant in Sanderson to work in tandem with Bucks. |

Maxy doesn't have the experience needed for a football manager. We need someone more senior and all the good football administrators are gone. |
