If we can get Scharanberg and Freeman to reach their potential over the next few years along with Moore and pick 5 things will be looking good, that's 4 elite young talents to add to Grundy-Broom-Elliot-Kennedy, the catch is getting Shazza and Freeman right though, if they don't come on we'll be up shit creek Regarding our next window IMO.

I love this time of year! There's hope, newbies, oldies getting fit. You never know.

Most upbeat i,ve seen Bucks for ages and he appears both pleased and optomistic
with the three trades DH & co. got for the team.
And he seemed not fazed that they "stopped the bus" to let the uninterested off

Don't know about you guys, but listening to 2 out of the 3 players join Collingwood for "security" has me a little concerned... Main reason being is that when current players from other clubs join the hawks, the main reason is to win a premiership (not security).

I hope the few he's talking about are not the ones who voted that we'll finish last in a recent poll.

We are far from flag favourites, so no, it's unlikely that a player would join us for the same reasons as lake to hawthorn for example.

The carrot we offered was seemingly a couple of four year contracts....and we seemingly got who we were after.

How that works out we be played out in time I guess.

They used to be a happy team at hawthorn.

But that's the point right? you have to work with what you have. the dogs couldnt even offer security. They had to offer buckets of money. These a risks clubs have to take. either that or just be the loser EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Four years for a modest salaried player who is unlikely to be past his prime when the contract ends is a pretty low risk strategy i would have thought.

More and more players seek a period contract like four years with money important but not the underlying factor.
No side can garantee finals which two of the three have just experienced so IMO their
employment like any job in life security was high on importance
And it takes in most cases a fair bit of first season to jell to new club
Good luck and hope your decision sees you playing deep into Sept

Club has just come off an 8 year finals run so just because they mention security doesn't automatically discount the prospect of success.

Agree on the 8yr finals participation and i will be curious to see where the Lyons & co. put up their prediction of ladder position / final 8 for 2015
And bet ya sweet bippy we will be not considered by the media but that phrase "We will surprise a few" now that i believe more than moronic media

When joining the Hawks you can say that given they are the reigning premier and one would assume likely to continue on with the success.
Chris Tarrant wasn't talking security when he returned at the end of 2010. Likewise Andrew Krakouer. We were the reigning premier and they were talking up continued success.
