No. But that doesn't make me a hater. I just think we're rebuilding and accept that this process takes time.

I'll be thrilled to be wrong.

I hope you don't mind, I'm going to use this post as an example.

This is how you can post something that says that you don't think the side will perform that well in a polite, succinct and pleasant way. I disagree with what you've said, I think we'll make it next year but I can happily accept your opinion while disagreeing with it.

Others could learn a thing or two from it.

Spare me please... more BS... Another thread set up for the Lolipoppers to attempt to bash the realists.

My pic is 8th at best - 12-13 at worst.

Anything less than a place in the eight will mean a new coach too I think....

Cue <snip - no, please, no cues. Thanks, BBMods.>

Yeah this my prediction, I reckon we'll start off well and tail off during the second half of the season (like last year), 8th is about the best we could hope for IMO, but hope I will.

I don't think so.

No injuries then perhaps.

Well I suppose I have to say yes or no. So I'll say it:

Yes or no.

Injuries have been our plague since 2011.

That said, if we have injuries again, then no. If we don't, then we are 8th-6th.

Next year though don't matter for me, it's going to be a ride. 2016 is when I expect to see some results.

Sorry it is both a yes or no, but I can't answer that question with out the injuries statement.

I'm deeply hurt and offended that a "Will we make the finals" thread seems to be OK with the Mods but a "Will we win the wooden spoon" thread isn't. Laughing

I think Collingwood will probably finish between 6th and 10th, depending upon injuries and who steps up. So, that's a money-right-where-the-mouth-is sort of "maybe".

Yes - What he said.

And if we DO suffer said 4th straight year of injuries, what will your verdict be? Just bad luck again?

Yes.

Mid way in this season we were second and that was with a shitpile of injuries.

Given a half decent run with injury we're definitely playing finals. Given a real good run, we're top 4.

This thread misses the point. If half of you are right and we miss the 8 the club will probably start the search for a new coach. Let's face it, the media will be lining up and the pressure on the club will be intense. They'll buckle. Will that make me happy? Not a bit!
What will we know then that we don't know right now? Nothing! We'll be in exactly the same position except we'll have tossed away a season.

And in case you can't read, this post isn't about the coach, and doesn't call for his replacement. it's about Collingwood supporters. Are we afraid of success? I'm serious. Are we?

PS: Stui. Pretty sure we weren't second. I think 4th was our best. No? I'd still love to know what happened, and I don't think it was Buckley, I think it was losing Maxy, but it sure wasn't normal, I don't remember ever seeing a side fade like that, there MUST be a reason. I put the question because I don't know, not because I do. And don't say injuries, we had worse injuries in 2013 and were being talked up for the flag after the Sydney game.

We're stuffed when you look at the big picture, and not just us but everyone who's name doesn't start with G, and I'm not talking about Geelong, have a look at the lists these expansion teams have been gifted, it's not a matter of if, it's when, we're happy with our youth, but our youth will be lambs to the slaughter against these AFL funded soulless franchises.

Dark times are looming for every true AFL fan.

Other than salary cap pressure and the fact that 16 other clubs will be at the door of GWS and GC prior to the end of each season offering every player coming out of contract a significant reason to depart. The expected dominance of the 2 expansion clubs may never eventuate.

It will eventuate, just look at how excited we are about our youth, our youth pales in comparison to theirs, IMO the GC will push for top 4 next year, flags will come from 2016, then GWS will join in.
