Don't take me the wrong way.......love the little man.
But his stats don't blow you away......and varcoes are worse. Would you play them both in out best 22?
There's a lot of support for not even playing one of them.

So how do we get Greenwood (the priority) if we give up Lumumba for Varcoe?
Pick 30 ain't going to do it apparently.
Boy this trade smacks of desperation by club and coach I'm afraid and if recent history is a guide will end in failure.
His form line is getting worse by the season and looks a player in decline hence why Geelong are trading him.
Rather pick 23.

That might have got the deal done.
Pick 25 or Varcoe which would they have preferred?

It'll be H and pick 30 or pick 48 for Varcoe and Greenwood. 4-way trade possibly. All four clubs involved have a good track record of getting deals done, so I'm not stressed unless Greenwood really has decided not to come to Collingwood. Don't think we were ever getting pick 23, though North might still end up with it.
As for Varcoe, he might be a Pies player soon. I almost feel like defending him.  |

Don't like the sound of this. Would prefer Greenwood but if this deal goas through then we can all but kiss our chances of getting Greenwood goodbye, unless we cave in to Brisbane and get pick 25.
