Especially fond of the bit where Darren Jolly gets a slap

What else would/could a Captain appointed by Buckley say?

I'd like to see an end to the constant Jolly Hate from supporters and CFC Staff, remembering that these players are paid employees.

I'm pretty sure the players vote for who they want to lead the team.

So, anyway, could we bundle up Pendles and Elliott for Dangerfield and pick 1?

Yeah, we might get a good player in that transaction

That is about as realistic as 1061's comment.

Great to hear and good to see players wanting to defend their coach.

So players are only speaking the truth if it's negative about the coach, and Jolly would garner more respect from the club and players if he'd stop taking pot shots and just accept his career was finished.

So if Jolly is ignored he will become irrelevant.

Interesting deduction. That is a hypothetical question.

<snip - Please, just, no. Thanks, BBMods.>

fwiw, not everyone is going to like the changes that have been implemented. it's how they choose to react which will define their longevity at the club.

Unfortunately when you make these comments in the press they end up being relentlessly regurgitated until a response has to be made to kill it. Jolly's no fool, he knows this and it's why he's doing it.

Probably shouldn't have commented on Jolly's comments, he's allowed to feel angry and if he likes seeing his former side going through a rough time because his career there was ended that's his problem.

But I guess they have the freedom to choose what to comment on, anyway, hopefully we can move on from the negativity there and just focus on getting the team back on track.

Players voted for Pendlebury to be captain, he wasn't appointed by the coach at all.

I think the comments about Jolly probably reflect the depth of antipathy to his recent conduct felt by many of the players who remain (most of whom can still stand, run, jump etc more or less without geriatric aids).
